I admire you and Brent so much, I have my first baby boy, Javier, who is turning 6 months tommorrow, reading your blog made me realize how lucky I am for having a healthy child. I do believe if God made you come to his, he will help you come through it. You will be blessed with another baby, and you will have one in heaven, looking down on his family. You are in my prayers. I just wanted to write a little something to you because my heart just breaks for you as I read this. Cohen is such a lucky boy to have the two of you as his parents. We lost our son on Oct. 15 of 2009. He was just 44 days old, but we weren't given ANY options either. Nothing could be done. However when we took him off of support at just 8 days old prepared to say goodbye, he surprised us all and we took him home with hospice care. The amazing thing is that he lived for 37 more days, AT HOME. OH how I miss our baby Stephen. I ache for you! It doesn't seem fair at all, but I we continue to count our blessings and try not to take ANYTHING for granted any longer. I just wanted you to know that I think you are really great. We have shared Stephen's life and my pregnancy and all the raw emotions of our hearts. I'm glad that I was able to read yours. I wish that NO mother had to go through such heartache, but I find comfort in knowing that I am not alone.

Megan, I cried the entire way through your post. I feel your emotion and the up and down of that day. Thank you for sharing with us. My first son also was born with 3 CHD (2 the same as Cohen). He is 2 years old now and I cannot imagine losing him. I almost lost him several times, but was lucky enough to see him come home without breathing tubes and IVs.
You are very strong and a great light in this world. My husband and I will always keep you and your husband in our thoughts. Always praying and thinking about you and your family.

WOW! So, Im in tears as I finished skimming and reading all about precious little Cohen. I am truly sorry that you had to experience this....and that Cohen and Daddy did too. I promise I will never forget you... or him. This has made an impact on me above none other. God is good to heal Cohen as He will heal you in time. I will be praying for you and your husband. I know that no words can explain what you are going through but you both are so amazing for sharing your most intimate moments of your tragedy. I can't even imagine how heartwrenching it must be to be going through this. I wish you both the very best in everything especially your healing process. Your strength is amazing. I know you probably don't feel strong right now, but it shows. Your trust in God and His perfect will for Cohen is also amazing. You let Cohen go so that he could be whole and that is one of the most unselfish acts a mother can do. You already know that Cohen is alive and thriving. He will grow in God's arms. He will laugh and run and play. None of us know exactly what heaven is like, but I am certain that it will be a wonderful place for Cohen to live forever. He will never ever again feel pain or be sick, and one day you'll meet him again. You'll hug him and hold him. You'll laugh and talk and spend eternity with one another. What an amazing day that will be. Thank you for sharing. You are in my prayers.

Megan thank you for sharing this, I cannot imagine how hard it was for you to do this and while those pictures are heartbreaking they are absolutely beautiful.
