Knox & Sloane had their first day of pre-school yesterday and it went great!
They did fine when I dropped them off, which made me so happy. Gave hugs & kisses and said, “bye mom!” Naturally, on the way to school, It Won’t Be Like This For Long was on the radio. It took everything in me not to bust into tears. I knew it would probably scare them and make them cry!
When I picked up, they were so happy and happy to see me. The loved getting to meet new friends and their teachers. Some of the kids were already out in the hallway with their parents and mine were sitting in a teachers lap, in their classroom, one on each leg! ha All afternoon they talked about their “new school”
This morning, they were tired so I had to wake them up. When we were getting dressed, they both told me they wanted to go to their new school. When I was unbuckling Knox out of the car, he said, “I like my new school!” Such a good feeling. I didn’t doubt they wouldn’t love it, but it gives me peace of mine they are telling me about it.
I love these that they made. It was nice knowing what they read and they were about to talk to us about it.
After chuckie, we went with our friends to eat lunch. Knox ate an entire 10″ kids pizza! So not like him, so he must have been hungry. We also did a dessert and sang Happy Birthday 🙂 We are doing a week long celebration!
After lunch we came home and I put them down for a nap, but he was too excited to sleep so I let him rest for a bit and then brought him down with me. She was out.
They love painting and got a few new sets for their birthday. They told me they wanted to paint like at their new school 🙂
This was actually Tuesday night, before their first day. I overnighted The Night Before Preschool, haha. I had been meaning to order and kept forgetting. Thankful for Amazon’s great prices and quick shipping capabilities!
The kiddos loved the book. This was seriously probably the first book they’ve ever both sat through and listened to every single word and looked at every picture. We read it again last night and they talked along, while looking at the pictures, so they could do some analyzing. Cute book.
