You all know the randomness in me. This kind of goes along with that, but I do love to share things that I think work well with us because I think you all might like/be in need of them as well! 🙂
So several months ago, we started to smell a funny smell in Brent’s car. After some investigation, we finally figured out it was the carpet!
We found out the last time we had the car serviced, the person doing the job forgot to unplug the evaporator hose, causing water to leak through the air conditioning unit and onto the carpet. We had no idea because we weren’t ever feeling the wet carpet!
It was so very stinky, but thankfully, it was something that could be fixed. New carpet, which of course the service department replaced.
What about smells that come in that we can’t fix or prevent? I don’t know about you, but I kind of naturally have a weak stomach in the car. And during pregnancy, my nose became sooooo very sensitive to smells, good and bad ones. Literally, Brent’s soap he was using in the shower would wake me up in the mornings. The smell sensitivity never really went away postpartum, so we know refer to my smelling powers as “super-snout.” I know, lovely. haha
Brent and I have both also had increased sensitivity to allergens the older we’ve gotten, mostly with sneezing and eye irritations. I will start sneezing if we drive by grass being cut and his eyes start watering with smoke that comes through the ventilation system, whether it be cigarette from another car/by-stander or grass fire.
When I was offered to do a review on FRAM Fresh Breeze® cabin air filters, I jumped on it. I figured not only would it help us with these minor little issues, but it would be good for Knox & Sloane, too!
FRAM Fresh Breeze cabin air filters filter 98% of dust, dirt, and allergens and are the only cabin air filter that use ARM & HAMMER® baking soda to remove odors from the air entering your vehicle through the ventilation system.
Over the past few years, I’ve learned quite a bit about the dust, dirt and allergens in our outside air and let me tell you, there is a lot and the air just really isn’t even clean. I even advocate for cleaner air with this community.
Brent and I could both tell the car just smelt fresher and that we didn’t really have any outside smells coming in. I did worry about holding my nose driving by chicken houses! Of course smells were the easy-to-notice difference, but also knowing that it’s helping prevent some dust, dirt and allergens coming in, too, is also a plus.
The filter was super easy to install and only takes a few minutes. When I first told Brent about the filter, he thought surely it was something that I’d have to take the car in to have done. Then, I showed him the box. He replied with, “that small of a filter can help and we can put it in ourserlves!?” Yep. It definitely has and I highly recommend it!
