If you’ve been reading over the past few weeks, you know that I’m trying out lots of new lotions.
It’s so nice to have the option to try lotions now that my skin is on the normal side. Growing up with Celiac, and not knowing it, didn’t allow me to just wear whatever I wanted when I wanted. My Celiac mostly affected my skin. Perhaps one day I will dig up some pictures and post.
With spray lotions, they tend to not be so heavy on your skin. I feel like these lotions are thin and you don’t really have to worry about getting it everywhere or fighting to get it off your hands if you don’t want lotion on your hands at the time. The St. Ives Fresh Hydration lotions give you moisturized skin without the heavy lotion feel.
I tend to put on more lotion before bed. I do this simply because I feel like it can absorb better, for a long period of time, than it would if I were up and walking around during the day. With summer, I think lotion being less greasy is most definitely a plus. You are more likely to get hot and sweaty with the heat and to have lotion sliding around all over your skin is most definitely not ideal!
I received three of the lotions: Energizing Citrus & Vitamin C Fresh Hydration Lotion, Naturally Indulgent Coconut Milk Fresh Hydration Lotion and Naturally Soothing Oatmeal & Shea Butter Fresh Hydration Lotion.
My favorite is the Coconut Milk. It has orchid extract and I just love the overall smell of it. The smell isn’t strong, but just enough of a sent to not be overpowering at all. I love to put it on after I get out of the shower. Another thing is putting on lotion before you get dressed, you have to make sure your clothes aren’t going to stick to it or that the lotion isn’t going to sit on your skin and get on your clothes. I didn’t have any issues with these spray lotions.
I also really like the smell of the citrus & vitamin C lotion as well. It actually has grapefruit extract in it, which I’ve always heard great things about! There are hints of pineapple, too.
I don’t really do oatmeal items anymore, but the Oatmeal & Shea butter is great for soothing your skin. I’ve always read that its one of the first things you should try if you have any minor irritations.
Lotion is used year round, for me at least, and I definitely be keeping one of these close by for use!
