Thank you all for the texts, calls, emails, etc. to check on Knox. Hopefully he is on the mend!
It’s been a rough few days 🙁 He started a little cough on Friday and on Saturday it was just a bit worse with a low fever. Sunday morning, the cough was getting bad and making him gag. I was going to urgent care for a steroid shot so I took him with. The doctor basically said he just had a virus and would have to wait it out. I will say that he had told me his chest hurt and I did tell them that : /
Sunday night was rough so Monday I took him to the pediatrician where they did x-rays and a few other things. His x-ray showed pneumonia and his O2 saturation wasn’t ideal, so the doctor wanted me to take him to the pediatric ER at the hospital so they could see if he needed to be admitted to Childrens. They did x-rays there also to see the same thing, but thankfully they didn’t think his oxygen levels were too bad and he was still drinking liquids quite well. They said we could take him home as long as we kept a close on his breathing, fever, liquid intake and prescription. Apparently, pneumonia can linger for up to two weeks so it’s pretty important to get it cleared up so that it doesn’t return.
He had another pretty bad night last night and this morning his breathing sounded wheezy, kind of like static, so I took him back to the ER. They told me pretty much the same thing, and that it was normal to get a little worse before getting better. It will take his antibiotics a few days to kick in, but there is “junk” breaking up so that’s what was causing the breathing noises. They said keep an eye to make sure it doesn’t get fast or become a struggle.
So, here we are. Thankfully, he is bed, finally, resting, though still restless 🙁
It’s so hard to see my baby sick : ( I hate it. He moans and cries when he coughs. He’s so restless and I just try to do whatever I can to make him comfortable. I’m also very thankful we have fam here to lend their hands with him and other things.
Neither Knox or Sloane had many sickies over the past few months so I had my fingers crossed they would escape winter as healthy tots. Now, we can only pray Sloane can fight it all off.
I must say, I never mind the snuggles and he is such a sweet boy. We’ve had around the clock cuddles and it’s the best even though I may be exhausted. I wouldn’t trade it for a thing.
These were from Monday morning. Sloane really wanted to play dress up with Knox, but he wasn’t having it.
The big pic is this morning and right was yesterday. He finally gave me some giggles this afternoon, sweet boy, he even said “cheese” for me to grab my phone, haha. I think he was actually getting delirious.
Hope you all are having a good week!
