Dear Knox & Sloane,
I can’t believe in just one month you guys will be two years old!
Most the time I catch myself referring to you as “kids” instead of “babies.” That kind of makes me sad, but I know going into this kids’ stage is so much fun. You were both such good babies!
The first thing that comes to mind is the fact that you both love to cuddle. You will still run into our arms and you will still just lay with us. We have a little pallet in the living area, where you guys play, and you know you can ask us to sit with you and we will 🙂 I think we’ve figured out this time is going all too fast to pass up those kind of opportunities. I think daddy probably knows that’s why he comes home to dirty dishes somedays.
I feel like I was just planning your first birthday and now I’m thinking about your second. I’m thinking we are going to do something a bit smaller and more intimate since last years was somewhat of a bash. Eventually I’ll post pictures on here so you should be able to see them by the time you are reading this 🙂
Just the past two weeks you guys have started holding hands, talking to each other, giggling and really interacting. Hopefully this stage lasts for a while before each of you gets cooties, in the others eyes.
You are both talking quite a bit. Sloane you are repeating most things that you here and saying sentences. When we acknowledge how cute something is that you say, you will say it over and over again. It’s quite funny. Knox you are surprising us and starting to pop little phrases out, though I really only know what you are saying based on what you are doing or wanting.
I love that you both are finally starting to look at the camera again. I think by now you know this momma is crazy over pictures. One of my favorite things in the words is to look back on pictures, this blog, and to see you guys grow up. I’m also loving videos. I’ll cherish all of these and I hope you enjoy looking back at them, too!
A few months ago you guys started Mother’s Day Out. Let me tell you, it’s been a blessing for all of us! We were stir crazy after winter and by the time you were 19 months old, I knew it was time. You both really love it. You always wave and tell me by and come running to me when I return. It did take a week or two to master getting you both, and all of your stuff, in and out of the car and two the classroom and back.
You are both eating really great at the moment. You both go through stages, but Sloane usually isn’t too picky like you are Knox. I don’t blame you, though. I like to eat the things I like the most, too!
You are both sleeping 7pm-7am and we are forever grateful. You guys started doing this about 10-12 weeks, thanks to Mrs. Laura, and have only woken up a handful of time due to sickies or teeth. We are on one solid afternoon nap. For a while, it was only lasting an hour and well, no one was ready for that. Thankfully you are back to about 2 1/2 hours.
Sloane you are just starting to get picky about what you wear. You wore your Hello Kitty jammie pants under different dresses for about three days. I thought you were a bit young for this, but apparently not. You want a bow in your hair at all times and if it falls out, you want it immediately put back in.
The favorite cartoon at the moment is Barney.
Knox you are obsessed with cars. Obsessed. Not just Cars like the movie, but those also, but any kind of little car. You carry them in your hands everywhere we go. It’s pretty cute how excited you get when you get a new one.
You all love playing in water and the swimming pool. I think we are going to put you in swim lessons in the late winter, early spring.
You love, love your grandparents! You always ask about them and get so excited when you see them. They love coming to play with you.
We were going to go to the beach this summer, but we decide to wait until next. So the plan is to do Disney early summer and the beach late summer, next summer 😉
Sloane you just started yelling “Knoxy! Knoxy!” everytime you wake up. Thankfully Knox can sleep through this most of the time. I’m not ready to move you guys into separate rooms. You do talk and have conversations when you are in bed and it’s so cute. I also want to keep you in cribs until three, fingers crossed! haha Sloane you jumped out of yours once in the fall, but Knox you have not.
We had a few months in late winter of sickies, but thankfully we have gone several months without. Our worst injury has been Sloane’s lip. Sloane, you were jumping in your bed, and we aren’t really sure what happened, but you started screaming and daddy ran up and found blood. You almost bit through your lip. We took you in and it wasn’t punctured all the way through, thankfully. The doctor said it looked like your top tooth got the outside and your bottom tooth got the inside.
I still cry at random moments when I look at you both or think about you both. I’m still so thankfully we’ve been blessed with the two of you. We celebrate your older brother’s second birthday in June, and I know he loves looking down on us 🙂
I think that is all for now. I love you both SO SO SO MUCH!!!
PS – Knox don’t hate me for your clothes. They really are cute and you look so cute in them! I promise closer to three daddy will get his way and you will be in polos all the time, haha!
