This week......

This week I've realized I could eat eggplant stacks everyday...and I did three days in a row.

This week I've had a VERY grumpy little girl. She's teething and her ear is bothering her. It's been hell, but we made it through and thankfully daddy can run interference on the weekend.

This week I haven't practiced taking pictures because my subjects weren't really in the mood. See above.

This week I've learned I probably can't sneak pieces of gluten here and there anymore. I had some last weekend and a few days later I woke up with a rash covering underneath both arms. Special. My doctor first asked if I had eaten gluten. Oh, yeah, that. For the most part I've completely cut, but every now and then if we are some place and it's the option, I take a bit here and there. She also said I probably had strep and put me on meds. Apparently my ears and throat looked awful, though neither hurt. She said I'm in Oklahoma and allergens are so high so they irritate.

This week I've determined it will probably take me a full two years, from move in day, to get our house organized. I'm okay with that. My priority list is pretty packed.

This week I've determined my face might not ever become immune to Retin A.

Speaking of skin, last Friday a doctor told me that I would need a tummy tuck to "rid" the dead skin of having twins and/or 3 babies in 14 months. That's a bit hard to believe, but it isn't pretty and I figure I have plenty of time to determine if that's true because with the recovery it involves it will be at least 5 years before I would even think about it.

Those previous two things seem quite vain, but I've come to find the better I feel about myself, the better I feel overall. I've also learned I'll probably do things I swore I'd never do.

This week I learned it's much easier to have someone with me at music class to man the babies alone. Thank you, mom.

This week I've learned not to start boiling water immediately after putting the babies down for a nap. If one doesn't want to sleep because of their teeth, and you go up to rock them, there is a good chance you will forget about that boiling water and you will essentially cook your pot to a crisp.

This week I've learned some of my readers think my blog is too cluttery. I'll try to make some adjustments.

This week I've learned I will dust bust my kitchen floor at least three times a day.

It was a lovely week :)

We went to the mall Sunday; music class tuesday; we played outside; our friend, Hudson, came to play on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday Sloane was at her worst :(

Happy Weekend :)

  2. The cluttery thing KILLS me! What in the world is wrong with people!?
As for the tummy tuck issue, I promise it doesn't have everything to do with you having Cohen and then twins in a short amount of time. I had to singletons three years apart and was told a tummy tuck was my only hope too. I sort of like the pudge and excess skin. Ha! I truly believe genetics play the biggest role in what your tummy looks like after having babies. And I think my genetics and tummy pudge are just fine!

  3. I had three kids (twins and a full-term still-birth) in 14 months too--and your doctor is right. My doctor told me the only thing you can do is have a tuck. I'm 16 years out, and there's just no springing back for skin that was stretched that far. Sorry.

  12. I have to agree with the rest, there is NO shame in taking whatever steps you deem appropriate to combat the aftermath of pregnancy. And since you know the recovery process will be lengthy, there's no harm in trying to prove that doctor wrong in the mean time. I told my husband that once we're done having children I'm having EVERYTHING put back in its place. You've given life to others, you deserve to feel great in your own skin!

  13. I love the photo collages!
I have boiled all the water out of the pot so often. My husband always makes fun of me for it. Multi-tasking.
I love eggplant so much, but I hardly ever eat it!
