House Dressing Style

My friend, Sasha, started a blog a while back and I wanted to share it with you all!

She is fabulous and has such great taste! She can seriously do it ALL and is so talented. She helped me quite a bit with the nursery as well as painted the dresser in it. So thankful to her!!

House Dressing Style features all sorts of posts from DIY to places and things she loves! Of course, all things house, dressing & style :)

You must definitely check out her home tour!

To celebrate her 100th post, she is doing a giveaway :) You can check it out and enter HERE!

I'm so excited she is moving back to town and will just be a couple miles from me :)

Have a good day!

Perfect Summer Treat!

I recently tried the new Breyers Blasts! Chocolate REESE'S. :)

This new variety features chunks of REESE'S Peanut Butter Cup pieces and REESE'S Peanut Butter swirled in chocolate frozen dairy dessert.

Ya'll, it is yummy!

It's creamy chocolate with chunks of REESE'S peanut butter cup inside it!

REESE'S peanut butter cups have always been good to me, but I've tried not to eat them too often because it's something I could eat tons of.†

The product is sweet, but not too sweet, although it is pretty rich! I like how it's 'blasted' with chunks throughout. So, it's kind of exciting when you get one. :)

Brent also really enjoyed it. I'm always nudging him to take a bite of things and sometimes he obliges and sometimes he doesn't, but as soon as he saw the REESE'S on the container, he agreed to a nice-sized bite! He then said, It actually has chunks of peanut butter cup in it! I explained that that's the "blast" part. ;)

It was easy to scoop out just with my spoon. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of ice cream scoops because really, it's just creating more dirty dishes, so I was glad I didn't have to struggle to get this stuff out of the container.

I will use a scoop when scooping for others, though! I think it's a nice treat to have when entertaining. It's not something you can just leave sitting out, so when people are over, it's kind of a fun surprise to whip out, especially if they aren't expecting it. I will also admit that sometimes I forget to pull it out while we are entertaining. That leaves me with quite a bit once people go home!

This summer, I want to make an effort to have fun with frozen treats, and of course, once the babies are older, I know this won't be an issue. I know Knox & Sloane can't wait until they are old enough to eat them! :)

For now, they have lots of friends who are a bit older that I know will enjoy these treats!

I'm really itching to try the Breyers Blasts! OREO Birthday Blast! This one has OREO cookie pieces and rainbow sprinkles in artificially flavored cake-flavored frozen dairy dessert. It's not in any stores in my area, but I'm really hoping it will be soon. :) I think I even saw a SNICKERS Bar Blast that I may pick up the next time we have people over.

What I want to know is, how would you and your family enjoy Breyers Blasts!? Do you eat it after dinner for a treat? Do you have it at parties?

If you tell me, you will be entered for a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card!

new car love :)

We FINALLY decided on a car!

We went with a Honda Pilot :)

We decided on a 2012 and we are loving it.

In the next few weeks, I'll post my favorite features. I'm pretty sure I already know my favorites, but I'll go more in depth soon.

If you sent me emails on cars, THANK YOU! Many of those helped us so much.

We got it from Don Carlton Honda in Tulsa, OK. They are AMAZING; so helpful, honest and professional.  This is our second car to purchase from them. Our last one we bought there as well. We love them. Knox & Sloane love them. They giggled and played with many of the employees today :)

Sloane and I made a trip there yesterday, too, and they sent us home with pink & blue balloons (we got them today, too:) The babies love balloons.
Thank you, Don Carlton Honda :)

Thank you all for the tips and advice...even dating back to this post, haha. I loved that so many ladies left my opinions on their cars. awesome.

*A few things left on the blog sale from earlier :)

**I'm selling some stuff in my previous post HERE.

I kind of meant to post these yesterday. These are my favorite pics of Knox & Sloane this week :)

LOVE them. Sloane loves to smile and Knox loves his hat, haha..

 :) :)

Midweek Randoms

How is already midweek again?
  • Honestly, the only difference in my weeks and weekends, is the fact that Brent is home and I have two extra hands, during the day, on Saturday and Sunday :) That's nice. Also makes getting out and about a bit easier. Oh, and we have extra fun, duh.
  • My blog is getting a new look :) It should be done in the next week or so. It's been brewing in my head for quite some time. I'm very excited.
  • I'm rearranging some things to help better make the transition. Prayer requests and their buttons now have their own page. If you want to email me a button or request, I'll be happy to post it in there.
  • I also set up a new system for my sponsors! I'm using Passionfruit Ads and I have a feeling it's going to make it easier for us all :) If you are interested, you can click the "Sponsor" button up to or go here.
  • I sat outside for a bit on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. By yesterday, my arms had horrible spots on them from all the bites. Horrible. Red, ugly and itchy. Most people on Twitter said clear nail polish. While it's probably not the healthiest thing, I was desperate. I showered (some people said scrub them a tad to clean and get out of hair follicle) and then I put the nail polish on. I still had yucky stuff break through. TMI, sorry. Any other suggestions? Oh, and how do I keep from getting bitten?
  • My friend, SuzAnne, who made Knox & Sloane's bedding and first set of curtains, texted me this last night....
  • The fires in Colorado are so awful Can you imagine fleeing from your home and town trying to escape flames? My heart sank. Please keep them as well as everyone else there in your thoughts and prayers. Same goes for those dealing with the rain.
  • We are test driving a Honda Pilot right now. We really like it. Thanks for the feedback on the Explorer. Someone also mentioned, on Twitter, that some Pilots have had some issues with their computer systems in the 2012 models. We will definitely check this out before hand, if we decide on this car. We are really like it, but are due to take it back today.
  • Honestly, the smell of a brand new Honda is one of my favorite smells. Is that weird. I'm not sure if it's the leather or overall smell, actually probably not just the leather because my first was cloth, but it smells so good.
  • Oh, and I love that so many SUV's have sunroofs these days. Also a favorite.
  • Our friends, Sarah, Ava & Hudson are coming over this afternoon. So excited :)
  •  I'm working on a new set up for my necklaces and earrings. They are out of control.
  • I still need to do a little recap of Father's Day, but we took this picture and I love it <3
  • I'm not a huge meat eater, but every now and then pork chops sound good to me. They have to be cooked just right. There is one restaurant that has them, here in town, and I really like this one. We tried a new recipe and I actually thought it was really good. Posted it here.
  • My friend sent this to me the other night. She said it reminded her of me. So true. hahaha

Have a good day :)

Rug Love

Until recently, I had not gotten any rugs for the inside of the house. We moved in mid December so I figured it was about time. Not to mention, this white carpet will never last. I had been eying a few and watching flash sales.

I finally ordered one for the little living area and it arrived last week.

I LOVE it.

I ordered it from One Kings Lane. If you've been reading, you know my love for them :)

*I just got an email and Safaviegh rugs are actually on One Kings Lane today! That's crazy. No clue if they have this particular one.

After a few Twitter requests, I found the rug on Overstock. I do love Overstock, too.

The next one I'm going to get is for under the breakfast table, which is just a few feet away from this rug. Yes, carpet under the table, boo. There is wood trim around the carpet, but not actually under, or we would just pull it up. I found one I like, but it's out of stock, so I'm keeping my eye to see if it returns or for something else.

I have gotten some cute outdoor rugs lately ;)

This one is from and it's on the porch outside our bedroom...

I love the fun bright colors.  It's also not faded AT ALL, which is awesome.

However, do you remember this rug I blogged last summer? I love the greek key pattern, but it has faded and looks AWFUL. It has not held up well at all. It's under our outside dining table, so I'll be watching sales, end-of-season, for a replacement.

This is at the front door and it's from Target. I probably need something a tad bigger, but I needed something and thought this was cute...

You also probably know my love for polka dots. I got this at the DOLLAR TREE. Yep, it was $1! I hadn't been there since we were packing and using tissue paper and randomly stopped a few weeks ago for...tissue paper. It's actually not faded and held up well! Costing only a dollar, I picked up two of them. I have them on two of the three back porch doors, outside. It may be a little hard to tell since the sun was on it in the picture, but it's kind of a khaki/tan color. I imagine it's actually a kitchen sink type rug.

This one I picked up a few weeks ago on a sale rack at Lowe's for $9. It's big and thick and I thought it was fun! It's in the garage.

America Is Your Park!

I'm teaming up with Coca-Cola and BlogHer to help fill my readers in on the third annual America Is your Park campaign!

I'm so happy to have found out about this campaign and to help spread the word. Basically, the goal is for you to vote for your favorite park and the park could win money for improvements, updates, etc!

Last year, over 13 million votes were cast by those hoping to support their parks! That is a TON of votes.

Why support your favorite park?

Parks are the go-to place for you, for your community! They provide places for friends, families and neighbors to be active and enjoy the outdoors together. They help build a sense of coming together. Not only do families interact, so do children. They do a lot of learning to interact in parks. Not only with other children, but with their surroundings.

The park with the most votes wins a $100,000 recreation grant from the Coca-Cola Live Positively Initiative!

There will be more than one winner, too! The second and third place parks will win $50,000 and $25,000 grants!

On top of those, one lucky park will be chosen at random, from the remaining top 25 spots on the leader board to win a $15,000 grant.

These opportunities give your park a wonderful chance to win a recreation grant!
ANY size park can win, big or small!

TO VOTE: It's easy - the click of a button!

For 1 vote - Go to LivePositively.com/parks , find your park - VOTE! That easy! You can vote as many times as you like!

For 100 votes - "Check-in" at your favorite park using foursquare. Yes, 100 VOTES! That is a lot!
For all the rules and more information, browse around LivePositively.com/parks.

If you don't see your park, just add it! There is an arrow to page over in the bottom to look for parks as well as a place to type in.

I voted for Hunter Park in Tulsa, OK. It's relatively close to us and we have always loved going there. We've gone quite a bit with our nieces and nephew and before too long, we will be taking Knox & Sloane quite often! I want it to be a place they can grow up and one we can feel comfortable to take them. Not that it isn't now, but there is room for improvement!

Our nieces and nephew with us at the park....

I was pregnant with Knox & Sloane :) I can't wait until they are running around playing there!

For more than 40 years, Coca-Cola has aimed to help support maintaining and building parks across the nation. Whether it's buying new recreation equipment or improving activity areas, these grants that are awarded will help improve places people go to play. This is a family-friendly competition and everyone is encouraged to participate!

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Only legal residents of the 50 U.S. (and D.C.) who are at least 13 years old and reside within the U.S. at the time of participation are eligible to vote for a Park. Participate on behalf of a Park by: July 15, 2012. The 3 most popular Parks will be offered a grant and there will be 1 Wild Card drawing at the end of the Contest to award an additional grant. To participate, for Official Rules, and complete details including grant descriptions, visit www.LivePositively.com/parks. Void where prohibited.

Weekend Wrap-up

Hope you all had a good weekend :)

Ours was nice, relaxing and pretty productive!

Friday afternoon, the babies and I went to a playdate at some of our best friends house. I wasn't prepared with swimsuits, but we ended up playing in the water. Thankfully, she had swim diapers! Lots of fun. Knox & Sloane are definitely water babies...
It's a little tricky having them by myself somewhere else. I'm trying to let them know it's getting hard for me to carry them at the same time. So, we have a little follow the leader going...

Knox started standing without holding on to anything today. He's been seeing Sloane do it for the past week so I guess he figured he better join in the fun!

Friday evening, after we tucked the babies in bed, we met Brent's brother and his girlfriend at dinner. The babies' papa & Kim kept an eye on them while we were gone. I know they wanted to wake them up and play ;)

Not the greatest picture at a weird angle, but...

Saturday morning, we did lots of playing...
Knox is still obsessed with "playing the drums" :)

We went to Lowe's....
It really is pretty funny how many people come up and talk to us. Knox & Sloane are pretty good at passing out smiles, but people truly love to make conversation!

We had a few things to get at Lowe's and we are in the market for a few new fans. I'm thinking this one to replace the one in our little living area...

After Lowe's we went to Chili's. We hadn't been there in, I don't know, maybe a year or more, but it was close and quick. Pretty good salads.

Sloane loves her food...
Saturday afternoon, we did a bit more car searching. We still can't decide, but thank you all so much for the feedback! We are going to do a little more research, test driving, etc.

Saturday evening, after the babes went to bed, I went to a friend's house to hang out with a few girlfriends. It was so nice catching up after not seeing them in a while.

This morning, Knox woke up pretty fussy. He was not a happy camper. Pretty sure his 8th tooth is coming in. He didn't take his first nap. When he woke from his second, he was even more fussy. He drank his milk and I took him back upstairs and rocked him. He fell right back to sleep. Sweet thing..

Needless to say, we didn't leave the house today. Actually, Brent made another trip to Lowe's.

After Knox woke and he and Sloane ate dinner, we played in the water some. I took some other pics, but I need to upload them. SO adorable.

Tonight, I've been working on emails and laundry. Our room seriously looks like a tornado hit it, but left piles of laundry to be washed. woof.

So, a little play by play of our weekend. I know most probably don't care, but I know I'll enjoy looking back on it, and Knox & Sloane, sorry I posted pictures with food in your mouth, haha.

I stay up too late.

Until tomorrow....
