Can we.....

......take a minute to thank Target for all their cuteness going on right now? Seriously. So cute. We needed groceries last night so we all loaded up and went. I couldn't decide on a jacket for Sloane and instead of getting both, I decided to do neither...for now, but how precious are they?! Knox & Sloane were ready for bed. Today, I needed to run in for toothpaste that I forgot last night. The dollar spot sucked me in...along with polka dot jeans and socks! #ilovepolkadots

Can we say what a bummer it is that I might have Celiac Disease? This is a probably another post in itself, but I should know for sure within the next two weeks (after results from blood work and abdominal ultrasound.) For now, I'm going to work on cutting gluten, which I've been aiming to do anyways. I went to a new PCP today because I've been having some issues and symptoms and couldn't put my finger on them. It's been rough. She is awesome and will get to the bottom of them. I did birth control and glucophage for my PCOS.

Can we say how awesome that it is that it's finally cooling off here. It's been in the 70's today and I've actually enjoyed running errands for a bit today?

Can we say my babies are trying to CLIMB on the couch? I was hoping not to have little climbing monkeys. They also pull the throw pillows off, toss them on the ground and put their head on them. So funny.

ummm...oh, and Halloween? I can't even believe it's almost that time. I really didn't want to stress or think much about outfits this year. I know we have lots of costume picking in the future so I just went with something simple ;) I know they will look cute. Honestly though, what could compare to last year? lol

Random, I know.

Happy Tuesday :)

  2. Enjoy doing halloween and birthday themes for them, before long you wont be able to make them cute and matching/coordinating. our first halloween we did a monkey and white tiger and my husband and I were zoo keepers (b/c first year w/ twins felt like a zoo) last year we did doctor and a nurse.. and this year well still stressing a little about it.
All I can say is have fun and enjoy every moment.
Dont stress too much they will be cute in whatever you put them in.

  3. I'd be very interested to hear your your symptoms. My 4 year old has tummy pains daily & issues with pooping. We are trying to get to the bottom of everything & she was recently tested & it showed negative, now we have to wait 2 months to get into a pediatric gi in OKC,big sigh.

  10. The Udi's Gluten Free Whole Grain bread in the green package is the best gluten-free bread around. Udi's also makes awesome bagels and buns too. :)

  12. Megan,
Going gluten-free can be overwhelming. I did it a few months ago, and it takes some planning and research. Grocery shopping the first few times will take you FOREVER, but you will get to know what products are good and most stores now at least carry a gluten-free section. There are some apps on the iPhone and Android that help you locate restaurants in your area that have a gluten-free menu. If you have to do it - you can!!

  13. i have celiac. to be honest, it sucks. but you get used to it. i'm surprised they will diagnose you without a biopsy. let me know if you need any tips. it's trial and error in finding foods that are "yummy", so i can let you know some of the better ones. when in doubt, go with Udi's brands. way tastier than the others.

  14. Even if you are negative for Celiacs, try cutting out gluten anyways and see how you feel. I have had digestive issues all my life with no diagnosis of any problem. I finally decided to try cutting out gluten and noticed a world of difference. The funny thing is that when I am pregnant gluten either has an amplified affect or no effect at all. I am currently enjoying carbs galore until this baby gets here. ;)

Another good bread to try is Rudis. In my opinion it is even better than Udis!

  16. I have wondered for some time if I had Celiac. I would love to know what symptoms you were/are having that made you look into it. I am sure they are not pleasant to write or talk about but it would probably be a help to so many!

Those Halloween costumes from last year are just too cute. I guess you should enjoy this Halloween dressing them in what you want since next Halloween they may have an opinion! Ha!

  17. haha I love this post, not sure why, but 'midweek randoms' are always my favorite :)

I vote the red jacket for Sloaney Baloney!

70's already sounds nice-- we had a frost warning last night! Love/hate fall!

  18. I was diagnosed with Celiacs in June and still struggling with it. It is a change, but you will get used to it after awhile. I still have not perfected any GF meals, just have been doing the basics for now. It IS better to go GF but for us the hard part has been the expense of GF foods! :/ I hope it is negative! We recently had both the kids tested since it is hereditary and they came out both negative, thankfully! I agree Udis brand is probably the best way to go. I am interested to hear the results! I got a blood test then an EGD to confirm.

Oh and...LOVE Target too!!! It is my weakness! ha I don't think I have seen those jackets yet but I just bought Emma 2 shirts from there the other day, oh and I dress a couple weeks ago. You can bet I was actually there for something else, but can never help myself ;)

  19. Target sucks me in every time. We briefly tried a gluten-free diet for my daughter, but that wasn't the issue. Best of luck to you!

  20. Those kiddos of yours are too cute! We have the costume already planned for our little man, it was a joint effort between my husband and myself.

If you do have Celiac Disease, I suggest getting the cookbook Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon. It has helped my family tremendously with overall health, and remember there are plenty of alternative flours out there like almond flour and coconut flour that can easily be substituted.

The cooler weather has descended upon this part of Texas and I am loving it!

  21. I went to target last night looking a coat for my little girl and had the hardest time choosing between the exact same ones you have a picture of. I was sending picture texts to my fiance and mom getting their opinions and we ended up with the gray one. They are both so cute - we liked them both equally but thought that the gray one would go with more. Good luck making a decision!!
