We don't have too much going on today besides a little family birthday get together for Brent :) We like to celebrate!
Friday night we went to dinner with Brent's boss and some friends. It was fun and always so nice of them to invite us.
Saturday we went to get the kids new car seats. Gosh, I'm starting to say kids instead of babies :( They are still babies, right?? :( We knew we were getting the Britax Boulevard, but apparently they have come out with a second model and we couldn't decide which. So I wanted to do a bit more research and find who has the best prices. Two at a time is a big chunk of change. Brent had Knox test out a few ;)
Such a little man man. Brent loves him in polos. I'm all about his john johns. He has all of his life to wear polos and only a brief time to do the baby boy stuff :) He does look pretty stinking cute either way.
While Knox & Sloane took their afternoon nap, I ran to Fresh Market. They opened one just down the road from us and then scheduled a Whole Foods to open next summer. It will be interesting because they aren't even a mile from one another. Anyways, I've been to Whole Foods lots because we have one, it's just across town. I've been to a Fresh Market, but just not this one. Anyways, it was nice. Speciality items, especially expensive prices. I did pick up a few things, including granola brittle. Random, but good.
At the check-out they also had me taste test some yogurt pretezels. I opted for the lemon over orange. It was SO good. It tasted like lemon chiffon. I told the girl I wanted a big and she sent the bag boy to go get them. Well, they were out! Boo. She had already scanned a bar code so I went ahead and took the orange.
When the babies woke up, we went to a big indoor shopping fair. It comes twice a year and they have tons and tons of booths. We actually walked by them all. A lot of them had some cute things, but some had quite a few of the same items. Knox & Sloane did great. They snacked on Mum Mums and smiled at people :) Mum Mums are so awesome at keeping them occupied in the stroller.
I found a little china cabinet I REALLY like, but I've kind of talked myself out of getting it. We did pick up a dough Christmas ornament and and some gift boxes.
Last night, I went to sleep at 7:30. We've been staying up way too late and I knew it was catching up with me. Getting some sleep and missing a meal, probably did me well :)
Here was my view this morning. I did breakfast for the nuggets and Brent is feeding them :) Sometimes I still can't believe there are two.
I'm excited to have our family over today. Yummy food and good company. There will be about 30 kaiser rolls involved.
I know one day Sundays will mean Knox & Sloane have school the next day and while that seems so far away, I know it will be here before we know it. This week they will be eleven months old. Time, slow down. I look forward to Sundays as we run around getting them ready for church, which we plan to get into the swing of this fall. Fall, gosh I look forward to fall. Let this heat leave. Okay, now I'm starting to ramble. Off to cook!

We have the older models of the Boulevard for our oldest two, and they came out with the newer model when our third was born, and we went with that for him!
ReplyDeleteFor the best deal, I honestly have always just googled the car seat, and then found the best price. Sometimes it means I don't order it from a "known" store, but I've never had a problem!
You won't regret getting the Boulevard, my 5 year old still sits in his comfortably, and we love it!
Hey! Okay, random - I saw you and your beautiful at Affair of the Heart yesterday, right as you were coming in, my mom and I were leaving. I hope you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteAlso, you must live close to us. We are one mile from the new Fresh Market and I am DYING for the Whole Foods to open next summer! (-:

ReplyDeleteKnox looks so grown in that polo :( It's going too fast!
ReplyDeleteWe love our Britax. You won't regret that purchase at all.
My husband and I are the same way about dressing our baby boy. I keep telling him I need to enjoy the john johns while I can!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness! knox in that outfit - kills me!! such precious babes.
ReplyDeleteWe have the Britax Boulevard (older one), and it is amazing. We got it at least $50 cheaper on Amazon, with our prime membership & free shipping. Take a look there!
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what kind of car seat we have, but I do know that when we were looking we opted for a lighter color (green with light gray) because we worried the darker blacks and grays would just get so hot in the summers.
ReplyDeleteProbably not a huge deal to some but we wanted to keep Bryce cooler if we could.
Oh my gosh where did you get their seats that attach to the counter? They are awesome!!! I really should have been paying more attention about the products you purchased in the past. Didn't realize I would need them so soon :)
ReplyDeleteI love how you have the highchairs attached to the counter that is awesome! You rock girl! They are so cute! Yay for shopping fairs I love them! Such a cute ornament, omg carseat shopping was crazy for us too! We read all the details, consumer reports, safety reports, it was crazy lol, but you can't be too careful keeping our precious cargos safe! Knox looks really cute in his polo pants!
