Thanks to BlogHer and Sherwin-Williams, I've been given a little push to make over our master bathroom. Honestly, I really like the bathroom! It's spacious; it has his and her sinks; it has a large shower and tub; it has a nice storage closet.
It just doesn't have character. To me, the color is bland. My favorite thing is the big window. It is a bit weird considering you have to crawl in a 4x5ft tub to access the shutters, but nonetheless, it's a great feature. Oh, did I also mention the window is in the front of our house? Like, facing the font yard. Ha ha.
Anyways, I don't mind the paint color, but it's not what I would have picked for the bathroom. It is a color that was all throughout our house when we moved in. We've slowly been painting and changing things to the way we like them.
Now, Sherwin-Williams has a GREAT color tool called Chip It! I can browse pictures on the internet and Chip It! will easily give me paint colors to match!
Chip It! lets you use any picture you find online and turns it into a perfect palette for inspiration!
You can get the Chip It! button just like the Pin It button for Pinterest. First you drag the Chip It! button to your toolbar:
Whenever you spot a photo you like online, just click the Chip It! button and then click the photo itself. And voilaóyou get the picture's paint colors.
Here is Chip It! on my bookmark toolbar:
By clicking this link, you can practice!
Here's an example:
I clicked the picture of Knox & Sloane
See, Chip It! grabbed all the main colors from the picture and created a color palette to match!
So, here is our master bathroom. I made a collage, trying to section off each part of the room. When you immediately walk in, my closet is on the left and Brent's is on the right. The door on the left, past my closet, is the toilet area. The door on the right, past Brent's closet, is another closet. Then, my vanity area and shower are past that. Past the toilet room is Brent's vanity area.

I'm wanting a color more light and airy, like this:
The cool thing is I can just search sites and use Chip It! to find great colors!
Check out the Chip It! video and add the Chip It! button to your Bookmarks Bar!
I can't wait to work on this project, and I'll be sure to keep you all updated on my progress!
For a chance to win a $1,000 Visa gift card and $200 Sherwin-Williams gift card, tell me what your favorite Sherwin Williams color is! You can even use Chip It! to match something in your house of that colors!
