I helped host another baby shower this week and this one was at my house. It was for Lindsey :) I loved welcoming people into our home and hanging out with dear friends..and meeting new people, too! Our house is no where near 'done' but it may be years before that happens, so we went with what we had going :)
My camera lens wasn't ideal for most of the picture taking so Lindsey's SIL said she would share hers with me. I need to get one of my lenses to the shop and another one ordered. Anyways, I'll post lots more pics when I have/upload them.
The theme of the shower was "You Are My Sunshine" :) LOVE yellow. We did yellow and navy. I was in charge of the flowers and I must say, I love having them all over my house now. They are my favorite.
I'm so excited for Lindsey & Ty and I can't wait for baby Jack to arrive. His friends, Knox & Sloane, are very excited, too!
The cake was delicious!
This afternoon, Brent said to me, "we should make those fruit cups all the time.....then, I can take a shot of fruit whenever I would like." haha. I got the little baking cups off Zulily and Whitney filled them with delicious fruit!
I'm not sure if you can tell by this picture...well, maybe by their eyes, but this is Knox & Sloane this afternoon. They were SO tired. They joined us at the shower towards the end. They loved seeing friends and meeting new people, too :) However, once everyone left, they really wanted to play and skip their afternoon nap. So, needless to say, they were quite tired by dinner time.
We fed them and decided we wanted to get out and get some dinner, so we headed to one of our favorite restaurants. They really do so good when we go to dinner, although I still always get a bit nervous. Tonight, Sloane played with her toys and talked and Knox watched every move Brent's fork made. Yes, we still sometimes feel like a circus act. People look and ask questions, but we don't mind. We love to share their smiles :) Seriously though, are they twins? haha. We still get that one. They are. They are in, indeed.
Thank you, all for the comments on yesterday's post as for tips on Knox's skin! I'm definitely going to be giving a few of them a try. I'm so ready to pinpoint the trigger so we can hopefully help/prevent the flares.
I'm ready to hit the hay! My legs are tired, haha. I suppose my entire body is. We are watching the end of the Thunder game and debating a movie to watch after we crawl in bed.
Tomorrow, I plan to address moving announcements. Better late than never, right? Seriously, Megan. I know. I got busy. They are too cute, in fact SO SO SO cute, not to send :)
You have a little while longer to enter my current giveaway....from me :) It's here!

It was a perfect shower and your home is beautiful! So glad we got to celebrate baby Jack!
ReplyDeleteWhere do you get Sloane's bows? Specifically the white one in this post? I love the simple bows but all I can seem to find are the crochet headbands which I don't love.
ReplyDeleteAnd LOVE the shower theme - yellow and navy are fabulous!
LOVE the yellow and navy combo, it looks fantastic! Also, I've had, or shall I say officially diagnosed with eczema for several years now. Something that I've realized causes flare ups, as well as my niece who has eczema is things with high acid content like tomatoes or citrus. If I, or my 3 year old niece eats them, our skin is quite unhappy. Hope this helps some! :)
ReplyDeletepretty colors! can't wait to see more pics.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the shower theme! Adorable. And your little ones are looking super cute, as always! And so you know, I have two boys one is almost three and the other just turned 1....and people as if they are twins! People are just weird and do not know what to say when they see a cute baby (or 2)...ha, I am always like seriously...yes they are twins but one is crawling while the other running and jumping...not to mention the height difference! So funny!!!
ReplyDeleteOur daughter has had wonderful results using this when she has eczema using this:

It works miracles in a very short period of time.
Good luck!
When I see twins I also ask if they are twins first too ... I guess it's just a good opener to asking about them?!
ReplyDeleteaww they look soo cute!

I'm glad to hear that you still feel like a circus act sometimes. I almost dread going out in public sometimes b/c I know that I am going to have to answer the same questions 15 thousand different times. And if I had a quarter for everytime I have ever heard the phrase you've got your hands full in the last year, I could totally quit working and stay home!!! Your little ones are precious and I love the navy and yellow combo.
ReplyDeleteI too get tired of the "Are they twins?" question and wondered the same thing... "What else would they be??" Well I met a woman who adopted a little baby girl bc they were having difficulties getting pregnant, then she finds out she is pregnant and the little ones are 4 months apart! So people ask if they are twins, and in this case, they aren't. So funny :)
ReplyDeletewhat a cute shower! love the yellow & navy color scheme!
ReplyDeleteWe get the are they twins question EVERY time we go out with them - too funny!
