If you enjoy blogging, reading blogs, Facebooking, Tweeting, Pinning, Googling, and so forth, I suggest you fight for your rights....now.
I'm not usually one to get very political, but really, this is part of my freedom of speech. However, it turns out, the U.S. Congress is trying to take it away.
Basically, they are trying to censor the Internet. From what I've gathered, it would make all the things above difficult or perhaps even in impossible.
I often think, what would I do without my iPhone? But also, what would I do without the internet? I'd be fine, sure, but it's something I've come to know and really enjoy. Who wants that taken away when there is no need?
The internet is honestly a second hand teacher. Sure, not everything is correct, true or legitimate, that you read on the internet, but a lot of it is. I've learned a lot and I've met so many amazing people. Social media is part of today's economy. So, not only would this be taking our freedom of speech and connecting away, I'm quite certain there would be another spiraling downfall.
Wikipedia has set up good info on their home page. You can find out more, plus access contact forms for your local officials, HERE.
It's easy. Fill out the form. Put a sentence or two..or ten, as to why you oppose SOPA & PIPA. You can copy and paste it on to the next contact form. It took me just a few minutes.
You can sign a petition through Google HERE.
According to NYDailyNews.com, "The bills were designed to stop piracy of copyrighted music, movies, and television shows. But critics including Google, Twitter, and some of the original architects of the Internet itself, say the legislation could censor the Internet, hobble online innovation and change what made the Internet what it is today."

I had seen this when I tried to log on to Craigslist and didn't really have the chance to look in to it. Thank you for the information. I took the time to contact my Congressman. I'll definitely be interested in seeing how this plays out.
