So, you may have noticed I’m a firm believer in keeping my kids as safe as possible. This includes environmental issues.
I just want the best for these nuggets 🙂
I am so thankful I was recently introduced to the Moms Clean Air Force.
A large part of children’s current and future health is based on things in the environment. We can try to protect them by regulating the things they eat or do, but what about the air they breathe?
It’s very obvious that pollutants are not only hurting our land, but they’re hurting its population.
According to Moms Clean Air Force (via their website):
“Politicians in Congress, encouraged by irresponsible corporations and lobbyists for polluters, are trying to gut the Clean Air Act and dismantle the Environmental Protection Agency.
Theyíre fighting for the right to pollute our air.
Lined up against them to strengthen clean air regulations are some of the most respected medical organizations in the world: the American Lung Association; the American Medical Association; the American Heart Association; the American Academy of Pediatricians; the American Nurses Association.”
These associations have medical backbones and backgrounds; they know pollutants are affecting people’s quality and longevity of life.
Do you want to try to help improve your children’s lives? Do you want to see them live as long as possible with decreased risks of health issues?
I highly encourage you to help support this cause.
You may remember me tweeting or blogging about my flu shot experience. Since I’m breastfeeding, I was advised to get a “preservative free” shot because the normal shot has mercury in it. Though the pharmacy’s questionnaire did not ask about breastfeeding, the pharmacist looked me in the eye and said, “Studies are showing that mercury may have some strong connections with autism, but it’s totally up to you.”
Such a strong statement, but it left me with an easy decision. Why would I put my children at an increased risk if I could avoid it? I was rather distraught over this experience because I hadn’t heard anything about it, and I would have gotten the normal shot had I not spoken up and asked, “What about breastfeeding?”
Not only is mercury floating around in flu shots, it’s in our air, and it’s bad. That mercury floating in the air drifts into the water and contaminates our food, like fish. When moms eat fish contaminated with mercury, it gets into their breast milk.
Author and mom, Ayelet Waldman’s child was almost permanently brain damaged from exposure to mercury from eating tuna. Watch this video to hear her story about why she joined Moms Clean Air Force.
We just need all plants to comply. Please join this force if you agree. When you sign up you will get information on how you can act now to protect your children from terrible poisons like signing this petition asking the President to support clean air standards.
Thank you for your time!
