Our little dumplings turned three months old yesterday. THREE MONTHS?! how did that happen?
They are the most precious beings. Seriously. My face hurts at the end of every day from smiling so much at them. I smile. They smile. It’s heavenly. Brent and I giggle. They giggle. It’s awesome.
This month has been wonderful. They have changed so much. I’m soaking in every single day because they obviously pass too quickly.
Since we haven’t been to the doctor this month, I’m not sure their weights and such. If I had to guess. I would say Sloane is about 11 1/2 pounds and Knox might be about 10 pounds. We go back to the doctor on December 21st.
They are wearing 0-3 month clothing.
They both have a little reflux. Knox seems more irritated by his that Sloane’s. He is on Axid and she is not. She usually spits up after her first feeding in the morning. He usually coughs a little after he eats, but doesn’t spit up. Both of their reflux is more on the silent side.
Knox, poor guy, has of of mucus. It’s given him a little cough and I think a little tummy ache the past few days. This morning, he spit/threw up ALL over me. It was a LOT.
They are still doing good at tummy time, but don’t like being on their tummies quite as much. I think it’s because they now know they can flip over and it’s not as much work once they do that 😉
They both still lack in the hair area. Knox seems to have grown more on top than Sloane’s has. They both do have pretty long eyelashes and pretty thick brows. Knox’s hair is pretty dark brown it seems, but Sloane’s seems like it is more auburn right now.
They have both found out they have control of their tongues & hands.
I think they are learning to mock us some. If they make a sound and we make it, they continue to do it in order to get us to. At least I think they are playing along 😉 Genius babies, of course, haha.
Still sticking to a great schedule. They nap, eat, play/alert time, repeat. They are pretty much up for about an hour to an hour and a half. They’ll start to fuss when they are ready to go back to sleep.
They are sleeping until 6:30-7 every morning. They are asleep by 8pm. Bath is at 7pm.
They are still nursing at the same time, but it’s getting a bit more tricky the bigger they get. I still do everything in the floor. I pump so they can have a bedtime bottle. Sloane is taking about 4-6oz and Knox is taking 7-8oz. He is also getting 3/4 a scoop of formula to help add meat to his bones. He is a lazy/slow nurser so this helps him.
As I mentioned in my last post, we may take the swaddle away soon, but probably only at night. Moms On Call recommends keeping it during naps as long as possible.
A few people have asked, we use the Miracle Blanket for our swaddles now. We’ve been doing that for a while. We also wrap the Pottery Barn swaddle blankets, loosely, at the bottom. They like it. Usually, they will smile when you swaddle them and it’s pretty stinking cute.
They are smitten by their daddy.
They are starting to look at each other more and coo at one another. Cute stuff. I’ve caught them holding hands a few times. Well, holding onto their others hand more so.
We love them so much 🙂
I’ll do a run down of each at 4 months when we have stats and stuff.
Here are some pics! They will smile at us all day long, but something about sitting on this couch, they will not give out their smiles. I’m not sure if it’s because they are just working to hold themselves up or if it’s just that they see my camera and not my smile. Still super sweet, though 🙂
