Actually, I guess in baby blog land, they are just 8 weeks! BUT, they will be two months in just a few days 😉
My babies are getting bigger! The part I don’t like about this is the fact time is passing and I will miss these moments. I do, however, love seeing their little personalities coming out, their smiles, their bodies growing and much more. It’s just an amazing, amazing thing!
Our biggest event this week was Knox man choking on vitamin d 🙁 I guess it’s good for breastfed babies to have this (which I didn’t know until six weeks ago) because they don’t get quite as much as they should. Well, we gave it to him for a bit, but when he started getting some reflux, he seemed to have a harder time with it, so we stopped. This week, we started back. On Wednesday night, well about 6pm, we gave him some and he kind of did a choking cough. We patted him on the back, he kept doing it. It got worse and then within a few seconds it seemed like he was struggling. He let out a violently loud burp/cough and it sounded like a grown adult. He began having strands of long, clear mucus coming out of his mouth. We suctioned it and he continued to seem like he was choking and the clear stuff kept coming. We live right by a hospital so we drove him up there. When he wasn’t choking & coughing he seemed real lethargic. Since he did have boogers in his nose (which he’s always had), they wanted to check for RSV, which was negative. They also did some chest x-rays, which looked fun. This hospital doesn’t have peds so honestly, all they could really do was make sure he was okay. They told us ways to clear that out what we thought was just mucus. At the time, we weren’t thinking this was caused by the vitamin D. We took him to his ped the next morning and he said it really sounded like he just choked on the vitamin d. His tummy maybe got nauseated or it went down the wrong pipe and the body wanted it out. He said we did the right thing by taking him in. He said he’s just so young, that if his body wanted it out, it wasn’t easy to do. So, he was trying to get it up and he just couldn’t without quite a struggle. It was a bit scary those first few minutes, but then we were just worried he would continue doing it like something was stuck.
The ped said Knox’s weight looked good and he was holding his head up good. Next week is their two month well check so hopefully we hear full reports on both babies then.
Brent and Knox waiting to leave the hospital. Sweetest picture ever.
The doctor said let’s wait about four weeks before giving him more. A few Twitter friends mentioned putting in a bottle so I’ll check on that.
We are getting back adjusted to a bedtime bottle. As I mentioned before, we introduced the bottles early and I’ve been pumping, but again, when he got refluxy we kind of held off on them. It’s not been all too easy getting Knox or Sloane to want to take them again, but the past two nights they’ve both done fine.
I think we may go to the pumpkin patch this weekend 🙂
I got the babes some things off Zulily this week. I just could not resist! They do have more clothes than Brent and I combined..for their first two years.
They are still doing good on their schedule. As for the night, they’ve gone a few nights sleeping about 8:30-9pm until 4-4:30am.
Still using Pampers & Huggies. They are getting bigger so size 1 seems to be doing fine. Brent thinks Pampers stay down on the sides of leg a bit more.
We are now using Kirkland’s baby wipes. Laura from Moms On Call told me about these and I really wanted to give them a try. They are primarily at Costco, but since we don’t have one I ordered them here.
I know, I take a LOT of pictures of the twins. I can’t help it. They are so cute 🙂 I spend lots of time in the floor with them so it’s pretty easy also 🙂
I tried to take pictures with their two month stickers this morning. However, I made the mistake of waiting until after they ate and played. They were tired. They had given their smiles out and let’s just say I had to play paci in and paci out for about 2 minutes so I could get pictures, haha.
the magic of a paci….
The both really are smiling a lot this week. Knox’s smile is just a bit more distinct, I think…
(yes, sometimes he gets stuck sitting in the pink lounger)
I think maybe Sloane’s chubby cheeks masks hers, haha.
Knox still loves Mr.frog…
He also got some new kicks from his cousin in NYC. They look big in the picture, but they really fit him pretty good..
I pulled out Sloane’s tummy time mat this week. I haven’t gotten Knox’s yet. Maybe next time I’m out..
Here she is again modeling her gown from the pics I posted the other day, haha…
We got out one night, during their nap (sleepy faces they immediately fall asleep once the car starts;)) and went to pick Chipolte up, yum.
