Knox & Sloane are three weeks old today 🙂 Today was also my official due date! I have no idea if my body would have allowed for me to carry them until this point, but needless to say, I’m glad they are in their bed right now…and not in my tummy!
Things are a lot more relaxed as of lately. My anxiety has all pretty much faded. That’s probably another post in it’s own. I think schedule really does make all the difference in the world. Well, that and growing babies. A lot of you asked me about Moms On Call after my last post. That is what is really helping us! I will do a post solely on that in the near future. It’s all about routine and babies do adjust.
I’m still feeding both. We did add a bottle of breastmilk at the 9pm feeding just to make sure they were getting a good amount before going to bed. Seems to be working well. The past two nights, they’ve not fed again until 1am. Then one night again at 5:30 and the next at 6. So that seems to be doing good. I know it’s a rollercoaster so probably some good nights and others that aren’t as good.
We are also doing the Moms On Call bath routine and the babes LOVE it. It’s SO funny to have them in the bath. They seem SO content and allow us to wash their little bodies.
(sorry bathroom light doesn’t work well on iPhone : / )
I give EXTREME props to those who ‘do’ multiple infants on their own. One person just does NOT have enough hands.
Sloane is the more fussy baby. I think it all boils down to her patience. The girl is a diva and very impatient. I’ve not really guessed where she gets some of that from 😉 I wouldn’t call myself a diva at all, but occasionally, I lack patience. So, needless to say, she wants what she wants when she wants it. Knox is very chill and goes with the flow! I think that’s where things get tircky for me doing it by myself. Sloane needs to pretty much always go first in whatever we are doing if I can do it at the same time. If not, she will get tired of waiting.
I think they are opposite of what they were in me. It is probably because Sloane was bigger, but she kinda kept to herself and just moved and kicked every now and then. If you have been reading for a bit, you may remember me talking about how MUCH Knox moved, kicked, punched, etc. The boy was active. Now, he’s just chill!
Sloane has seriously stocked up in bow and hair goodie department. Jamie, from J’s Princess Palace sent Sloane ALL these bows and hair goodies, plus an adorable leopard tutu and shoes! SO FUN! She has such cute things at great prices. Thank you, Jamie!
Our sweet friend, Meredith, brought these bag tags over last night! How cute are they? Brent and I think they are great and will come in so handy on the kids bags! There are two of each and they have our phone number on them (which I’ve blurred.) Thanks, Mere! Oh, and you should start a blog. Have I reminded you of that lately??
We’ve been doing tummy time this week after feedings and before naps. It’s going well. Sloane seems to want to relax during hers. Knox seems to fuss and cry and try to do things in his, which is actually what we are going for. This was my favorite Brent moment this week. Yesterday, he was in the floor with Sloane during tummy time. She was just staring at him and turning her head back and forth. He kept telling her that she could do it and that he believed in her, haha. Melt my heart, but really funny at the same time.
We are now doing most things in the nursery 🙂 I like spending time in there! It’s not as untouched as it appears in the pictures any longer, which is fine. It’s serves it’s purpose wonderfully and is nice and cozy. It just has a few extra things here and there and the cribs moved so the camera monitor can be on it until we mount them. Both babes are in one crib right now. We will probably move them to two soon.
Here we are with our loves this week….
Brent just left for lunch and golf, as part of work. This will be my first day to go more than two hours alone. I could have done it before, but my belly hasn’t allowed for juggling two, sometimes one in each arm. So, hopefully today goes well. I just can’t do as much at the same time, quite yet..when I’m by myself. I’ll get there, though! Hopefully miss Sloaney is patient with me, haha.
Hope you all have a good Friday!
