Today I’m 35 weeks pregnant with Knox and Sloane!
It’s crazy to think I’m 35 weeks pregnant with them. It’s even more crazy to think they will be here so soon!
During one of our first appointments, our doctor told us he really really hoped we could keep them in at least until 35 weeks. He said it’s really best for the babies. I’m not sure how confidant he was that would happen. After my trip to labor and delivery at 24 weeks, I wasn’t too confidant. From that point on, I’ve pretty much done nothing expect hang out in bed. I’ll be the first to admit, that’s probably the reason I’m still pregnant. No, it hasn’t always been fun, but I can be a pretty big home body. Not to mention this heat. I can’t imagine being out in it not pregnant.
Thankfully, Brent and I have had all kinds of help to manage our house, yard, food intake, etc. Without this, I probably would not have made it to 35 weeks either.
With all this being said, I would still like to go another week or two. Yes, Brent does have to turn me over in bed. Yes, I do feel like the bones from by ribs to my thighs are breaking, but I do know it’s all so very worth it.
I get a little nervous that some of my posts and tweets seem like I’m complaining, but I’m not, or not intending to. I’m just not sugar coating it. I could go on like this,
but probably not much worse, for another few months if that’s what it took. It’s not been easy, but it is miraculous and I already know, again, it’s worth every second.
I’m 5’2″. So far, I think I’ve gained 36 pounds. The belly now grows downward instead of outward.
Yesterday, my doctor kept giggling at my belly and said, “let’s have a little fun.” He measured and it is measuring 8″ larger than a single pregnancy at 40 weeks. He then had me stay lying on my side and had the nurses come into look. I now really don’t think he thought I would get this far. I think he’s just been in encouraging mode the past few weeks. He’s been saying things look great inside, which they do, but the size of me and my belly probably aren’t compatible with 3 more weeks of growth. He said most of his taller patients usually only get to 37 weeks and sometimes a little past.
I’m hoping Knox and Sloane are bigger than we all expect. I’ll tell you one thing, I’ve never in my life been as hungry as I have this past week. I haven’t stopped eating. Somehow, I didn’t gain a pound. Hopefully the babies did. I would think that would still show up on the scale, but either way, praying they get some chubbiness added 🙂
As soon as I laid back for my sonogram, doctor immediately said, “I think they will come this weekend!” Um, no. He then proceeded to tell me that he has just started to get a feeling it will be sooner than later and that he is on call this weekend. Honestly, for the past week, I’ve also felt it will be sooner than later. I’m not sure why. I feel like they are ready to get out and I’m just feeling like poo. Anyways, on call or not, I want my doctor delivering them, haha. I think he knows I’ll beg him to get there if he’s not on call. He says he wants to be the one to deliver as well.
So, it could be any time. I’ve not shown any signs of progression from what he has told me, but I guess him just seeing me from last week to this week, made him change his guess, haha. He said really between 34-37 weeks, things can change quick. Maybe it’s the fact I can barely walk and the puffiness setting in, but either way, I’m as ready as I’ll ever be 🙂
Our house is in utter chaos and for some reason it’s not freaking me out…yet. So, I assume I won’t go into labor until it’s put back together, haha. The tile should be finished by Sunday. We are getting the air ducts cleaned on Monday; the carpets cleaned on Tuesday and the overall house cleaned on Wednesday. Have I mentioned we want to bring Knox & Sloane home to an extra clean house? haha.
Not many pictures this week! I’ve not been up enough to take any. The only time I have gotten dressed normally, with make up, was yesterday for my appointment. Luckily, yesterday it only reached 97 degrees of the 112 high. My next appointment is next Friday morning, but is there is an opening Thursday, they’ll call.
I did finally get a video of Knox’s foot pushing out on my belly last night! You guys could have clearly seen a foot. HOWEVER, this morning I was trying to trim it some and trimmed the wrong part 🙁 Hopefully I can catch it again. It happens often, but it so quick, I rarely have time to get my phone on and the video recording.
This was the second best kick video last night. Not as good as the first, but he does it slightly, but hard, while I’m still recording. I didn’t attempt to “trim” any of this one, so after the first kick, there isn’t anything else to see on this video.
I chipped my tooth. Actually, I should say, I chunked my tooth 🙁 Luckily, it’s not a front tooth, and it’s on the back of a tooth, but there is a large part that broke off and it’s like there is a hole. THANKFULLY, it’s not hurting and I hope it stays that way. I can’t really have anything done until the babies arrive.
We still have a few things, along with the stroller, we need to go by before Knox and Sloane arrive. I can probably just send Brent and/or our parents, but if I make it another week, I may get out and go. I have a Target list that probably only I can deal with, haha. Hopefully I can make one more run on the scooter, with someone of course.
I think I’m going to share the full names next week 🙂 I also want to get my shower pictures posted. The nursery should be complete next week, so that will get posted in the next week or two…or maybe after they arrive, depending the unknown. haha.
Here we are this week.
Here is the comparison with Cohen at 35 weeks….
Ahhhhh, I just read my 35 week post with Cohen. It was Mother’s Day and Cohen (Brent) wrote me a sweet card. Tears. We miss him. BT is getting ready to be packed in the hospital bag 🙂
