No, not the babies! haha. I’m probably going to jinx myself for saying that and my next post will be the twins arrival, ha! I’ve just had a lot of comments and tweets saying they are on the lookout for me announcing Knox & Sloane’s arrival 🙂 I will be excited to do that, though!!
Thank you all SO SO much for the sweet comments yesterday! We are getting very excited 🙂 It was great to hear from you all new to the commenting as well!
It seems like every year around Christmas, Brent and I have debated on a Dyson vacuum. The would run sales and we would always try to talk ourselves into it. We had a vacuum from from summer 2003 until Christmas 2010. This past Christmas, my parents got us a nice, new LG vacuum. We LOVED it! Took all Dyson thoughts out of our mind. It was pretty much the same concept and $100-200 cheaper.
That brings us to August 2011; two days ago. The motor stops. We knew the past few times we had used it it had an awful smell and we weren’t sure why. We only used it every other week regularly and then when we needed it for something specific. Elton’s hair doesn’t shed,
mine sometimes does, though mostly in the bathroom where I brush or shower. Well, my dad, who can fix most things, said the motor was just shot It really was a great vacuum, but we must have gotten a lemon.
Well, logically, we didn’t still have the box or receipt. I know we kept both for at least month. Once we determined it was great, we chunked the box, and who knows about the receipt. I call Target today and tell them the story. They were so nice and said we could bring it in and exchange it for another vacuum. If we bought a vacuum that was more expensive, we could pay the difference. If we got one less expensive, they would put the difference on a gift card.
Brent called me while there and we decided to go forward on a Dyson and spend $100. The Dyson said $399 underneath on the Target shelf and it had a $399 Dyson sticker on the box. Our LG was previously $299 (and they didn’t have it anymore anyway, so maybe we didn’t get the only lemon.) He went to check out and the Dyson was only $319! So between it being that price and using our Target debit card to save 5%, it only cost us $20 bucks today! Not sure if it was on sale or what, but he said he didn’t see a red and white sale sign.
I’m pretty excited. Silly, maybe. I think vacuums need to work good, especially for their price. I also think it’s pretty important to suck up everything…especially with having crawlers in the next year.
I’ll let ya know what I think!
*Don’t forget, I posted this months sponsors and they are offering great discounts here!
