Well first of all, I know I won’t be able to get the words out for this post.
My heart hurts so badly. It is aching for our friends.
As you may have read in my posts throughout this week, a little girl we know, Lauren, was having heart surgery. She was born with congenital heart defects and had already faced two heart surgeries. This past Wednesday was the last, of this type, heart surgery she would be having. She turned 3 years old June 3rd.
While I’m not sure of all the details of what happened last night, she was welcomed into the arms of Jesus.
Lauren’s mom was the first mom person that contacted us when we found out about Cohen’s heart. She told us it was possible. She told us to go find a doctor. She gave us advice, names, etc. They live right down the road and Brent went to school with Lauren’s aunt, Katie. Lauren was the first little girl that we met with congenital heart defects. She was the first little girl that gave us hope while I was still pregnant with Cohen.
I can’t even wrap my head around it, but how blessed her family was to have the three years with her that they did.
Please keep Lauren’s family in your prayers. They are asking for specific prayers for Lauren’s brother, Adam.
This is Lauren, her mom, dad & brother at our local heart walk this year…
Thank you, Lauren for teaching us so much. We love you!
I’m going to turn comments off and ask that you just say a prayer or leave a comment on the Caring Bridge or Aunt Katie’s blog.
