Luckily, my weekends and weeks kind of run together. The only difference is Brent is home on the weekends. I’m home most the time now. I’m very thankful for that as I know how important it is to keep the babminos in 5-8 more weeks!
The twins experienced their first Independence day. They heard lots of fireworks….even from in bed, haha. To celebrate, they allowed my belly to grow two more inches. Remember Friday when I said it was 45″? Well at some point, it grew. As of Sunday, it was 47″. Lovely. Here we are this weekend…
We got out a bit, but not too much as we were facing these….
Ridiculous, huh? Notice the top one is “Today” and the high was 101 and the current reading was 102. I think it actually got up to 104 two days. No, I don’t think it got down to the 70’s at all as it was still 97 about 8:30PM most nights.
We worked on the nursery a bit. We’ve decided Elton loves the nursery. Not only does he love the nursery, he loves being under the cribs. This might put a stop to my storage container plans.
As Brent put the sealer on the chest, Elton even decided he wanted to get under there, haha….
We are still working with Elton and the fake nose making babies. He doesn’t seem to be paying quite as much attention after the first few minutes. He hasn’t been able to jump in my lap since I’ve been pregnant, but when he hears crying and giggling in it, he really gets curious.
Though, Elton cannot get in the bed and cuddle with us anymore, we are still letting him get on the couch some. He really wants nothing more than to be by the babies. He has been laying in the floor by the couch more, though, as well…
I managed to keep up with my sugars all weekend. There was once or twice that I almost forgot to check it. They’ve still been no where close to high, thankfully. My mom picked up my prescription and I thought it was fun the lancets were these pretty colors, haha.
We went by some friends on Friday evening for a bit. Micah helped introduce me to Brent about nine years ago 🙂 She is two weeks behind me and she is having a baby girl They live out of town right now, but hopefully will move back one day s
ooner than later!
We met some friends for dinner on the river Sunday night so we could watch fireworks. We ate inside and then went the porch to watch. It was actually supposed to rain, so luckily there was a nice cool breeze.
I don’t think he was ready for the first picture.
There is a yogurt place next door to where we ate, and as much as I wanted some, the dietitian specifically said she wouldn’t encourage frozen yogurt. Brent really wanted some. I opted for the sample size : /
I was trying to make a sad face, but I kind of started laughing.
Yesterday, Brent went to a movie with our BIL and I laid around. We went to some friends for a bit in the evening. I decided to make the strawberries I posted Saturday. They were pretty yummy and turned out cute….for my first attempt. I learned a few lessons. My friend Kristen prepared a patriotic and festive angel food cake!
I posted the things I used and some other pics here.
How cute was Mr. Saxon is his flag jon jon? So sweet.
The heat takes a lot out of me, so we didn’t go watch any fireworks last night, though we heard and saw a few from our house. We watched the Adjustment Bureau and thought it was pretty good.
Not much going on this week. Brent’s family is throwing him a 30th birthday party this Saturday 🙂 Thankfully, they stepped in as I’m really not capable right now. He turns 30 on the 12th!
If you weren’t blog reading yesterday, I posted about a foundation called “Wings for Our Trips” that you can read more here.
