We found out the twins’ sexes really early on. We also believed the doctor really early as well. I think I knew, but I still had the occasional urge to question even after we were told. However, when he said he was sure, we decided we wanted to tell our friends and family 🙂
The morning our doctor told us that he knew, we decided to share that evening. I was working, but during lunch I picked up a few things a
nd begged the bakery to prepare a cake for me in a short time to do a little gender reveal dinner 🙂 I knew I didn’t have time, or much energy then, to do much. Many of the things pictured I already had. Luckily, everyone else brought the dinner courses 🙂 We had salad, prime rib & pizza. Brent and I provided the cake for dessert!
I went about doing the gender reveal as though we would have if revealing one gender. I decided on traditional pastel pink and blue goodies. For the reveal, we went with a strawberry cake. Only the inside of the cake would tell the twins’ genders. There were two layers of icing. So, each layer would be the color indicating a gender.
I intended to do a whole stack of double mint, but couldn’t find anymore in the little packages at Target.
Time to cut the cake 🙂 I plan to have a few can lights put in before the twins arrive so the lighting is better in the evenings! Brent’s mom snapped the party pics with my camera. Oh, the finger prints in the cake are from our nieces. They attacked it upon arrival 🙂
My mom and SIL guessed right and got us boy/girl goodies 🙂 I think most everyone there thought boy/girl!
After dinner, we sent out a text
with iphone flash pics haha to a few of our friends who had been inquiring.
The first message said “It’s a girl!” with this picture….
The second message said “It’s a boy!” with this picture….
This picture was the day after. Somehow, we ended up with a lot of cake left
that Brent and I ate on and loved for a week.
There is a giveawway this week HERE 🙂
