Thanks for the comments on my last post 🙂
Though our past six months have been tough, we’ve tried not to lock ourselves in the house. I think we might could have. Actually, for about a month, I might have. Sometimes I’m quite the homebody, even now. However, we have some friends and family who have worked to get us out and about. Brent and I LOVE music. We always have. Brent’s passion is for 80’s music. I like a little bit of everything. In the past few weeks, we’ve gone to see Elton John, Darius Rucker, Brad Paisley & Foreigner. I recapped the little bit of Elton here. Below, I’m going to post pics from Darius, Brad & Foreigner, along with some video from Foreigner.
I didn’t expect Darius Ruker to pull Hootie out, but he sure did. He sang three or four songs. “Let Her Cry” is my favorite Hootie & The Blowfish song and it was the first one he played. No, I don’t listen to Hootie & The Blowfish intentionally (since junior high), but when “Let Her Cry” comes on the radio, I certainly don’t change it. I should also mention that he sang “Purple Rain.” So, the Prince came out in Hootie. Brent loves “Purple Rain.”
My favorite Darius Rucker songs are “It Won’t Be Like This For Long” & “It’s Alright.” “It Won’t Be Like This For Long” makes me shed a thousand tears every time I hear it, so I’ve not listened to it as much lately.
Brad Paisley played with Darius was technically considered the headliner. We saw him once before here (with Darius) and we think he is also pretty wonderful. When we went in 2009, we were late to the concert and didn’t see Darius, really. Brent doesn’t do as much country music as I do. While I don’t do a ton, we both really like most of Brad’s music. I like “Shes Everything” and “Whiskey Lullaby” (with Alison Krauss).
A pretty big group of us went this year and it was a lot of fun. We went to dinner before.
Here are Brent and I before….
I thought it would be fun to add this in..Here were are before the same concert in 2009…..
The rest are pics I snapped, or borrowed from friends who snapped.
This is how we saw Brad most of the time……
But then, he jumped down and ran through the crowd. He walked right by us! He gave us high fives and we patted him on the back 🙂
Here were are at Foreigner..(Brent probably won’t like this pic of him. The flash on my phone blinds him. It is pretty bright and typically makes me look like a ghost!)
happy music times 🙂
