Brent’s parents went to Napa soon after Cohen passed because his mom had a wedding to photograph. While they were there, a poem was written for Cohen by a poet in San Francisco. Brent’s parents stayed with his aunt and uncle. Though I’m not sure the story of the moments in which it was written in, I did get this message from Brent’s Aunt…
Megan my dearest step-daughter-in-law — whew what a title — I wanted to ask, did you like the poem my sidewalk SF poet wrote for Cohen? He cried as he wrote it and I cried as he wrote it, too — I hope to see him tomorrow, and maybe take a picture of him to send to you, I mean, he’ll want to know if you liked his poem, he was so sorry he couldn’t on such short notice write what was in his heart to say to you and Brent. But that was true of me and Michael too — we love you and Brent so. xxxxxxoooookandm

Jessica read the poem at Cohen’s Memorial. It was the first time I had heard it and it was beautiful.
