Prego Mego - Week 38

Hi :)

{reminder - words that are bold are links to posts or some place for those who have asked :)}

I'm currently 38 1/2 weeks pregnant. Just a few hours ago I thought to myself how tomorrow is Friday! MAN, this week flown by! I thought it would drag but it really hasn't.

I've ran a few errands. I retired my jewelry into a safety deposit box (since it no longer fits and I don't have a "home" here to put it in). I had yogurt with a girl I went to college with. I had lunch with a blogger who I met back in November. I had my last OB appointment before Cohen arrives :)

The appointment went good. No major changes, which is also a good thing! We are all set to go in early Monday morning. We found out my mother-in-law will be the taking pictures of the birth :) I think there are still some details being worked out, but since we are doing the documentary , I'm able to sign some forms in order for her to be my preference.

No sono this week. The doctor did check Cohen's heartbeat and it was going nice and strong :)

My blood pressure and weight were good. The 2.5 pounds I lost the week before were back on to the T. I guess for my final weight gain....I will say more than 30 and less than 40. I don't know 100% exact. Frankly, I don't care so I'm glad to feel that way I suppose.

I wore the wrist brace for a few nights but had no luck. My wrist still bent and when I tried to tighten the brace, I ended up really cutting the circulation off too much! I'm just trying to be more cautious. The hard part is waking up in the night to potty and...well..having a difficult time moving my wrists without wanting to scream. Hoping the carpel tunnel disappears Monday.

Here I am today...

This black dress is getting a bit short as my belly grows further out. I figured since Cohen is due to arrive in just a few days, I will wait to do the next bare belly picture until the morning of :)

I can't believe he will be born in just a few days. After all of these.....

we will finally get to see what he looks like :) These aren't even all of them.

I'm getting scared and more excited all the time. I'm trying not to let being scared shadow my excitement. That is sometimes hard. Cohen is still dancing around in my belly with a good heart beat...on his own.

He moves around more at night time. His twists and turns do hurt a bit more. I suppose he is getting big. Thankfully, I haven't seen that he has "stretched" out my skin, haha!

Brent and I have been snuggling with his blankets :)

Brent got here tonight. We are happy to have him here with us and not having to leave anytime soon. After a week or so, he will probably have to figure out ways to work from the hospital.

As I mentioned previously, I've been talking to a media specialists this week at Parkland about the delivery pictures for the documentary. She has been so helpful. I really feel at peace about being at Parkland for the delivery and Cohen going straight to the NICU. Every person on staff that we have met with or spoken to has been so nice. Parkland's NICU has a great reputation around the country and today the girl I've been speaking with this week emailed me an article. The NICU nursing staff was just awarded as a "Health Care Hero" in Dallas. The article was good to read - http://parklandnewsroom.qsigroup.com/news_detail.php?id=1356.

Ah, I know I keep going back to it being just a few days away, but it seems like only yesterday when we found out we were having a baby. We went through quite a bit in order to get pregnant and after a hectic year, we got pregnant quickly once we began trying.

Then...

I was blogging our exciting news for the first time when I was 8 weeks. At that time, I posted our first picture of our first baby...

Then just two weeks later, at 10 weeks, Dr.Nilson told us he thought baby M was a boy :) I then posted my first Prego Mego Pic...

At 18 weeks we decided on the beautiful name Cohen :)

A little over 22 weeks pregnant, we found out our little guy has a broken little heart..

Weeks 22-38 our world was completely turned upside down. We had some wonderful and special moments but also some of the worst moments imaginable. It wasn't what we had visioned. It wasn't what we were hoping for , but it's what God has given us and it's what we are and will do our best to handle. No matter what, Cohen is still our first baby boy and he will be perfect even if his heart is not :)

I will do a few posts throughout the next few days. We will also have some family and friends arriving which is exciting.

We so appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers!!! I will try to get through the emails and Facebook messages, but if not, just know I we are grateful! Also, thanks for the love over at Send Love to Cohen. Everyone's comments are so touching, as always :)

I've been saying lots of prayers for this little guy today....

I've posted about he and his family several times He had his Fontan Shunt put in today and is in the first stages of recovery. Please keep he and his family in his prayers as Christie just lost baby Tristan a few weeks ago. This is their blog she is updating all the time. She is so sweet and recently sent Cohen some hospital friendly goodies :)

There is a large possibility at 2 years old, Cohen will be having the Fontan.

More soon!

ps - I'll proof read this when I wake. I'm tired.

I forgot how stinkin' tiny you were!! Isn't it funny to look back at each weeks picture? I remember at 24 weeks feeling huge and then when I was 35 weeks I looked back at that picture and saw how small I looked! Crazy..

I had pregnancy carpal tunnel as well. It did get better after birth, but it took a few weeks... So don't get discouraged if it doesn't go away immediately!

You look AMAZING. Way too cute to be almost 39 weeks pregnant! I'm jealous!!

Cohen is going to do awesome on Monday girl and so are you.. We're all praying for you guys.

Totally coming out of the wood works as I've never posted before but I've been reading from the beginning every day. I check your blog every morning for an update. Please know that we're praying for you! Small world because I'll be in Dallas this Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday and we are building a house in Trophy Club, by Southlake, and making the big move from TN to Texas this fall.

Oh Megan, this post just made me pretty emotional inside. I look at you when you were first pregnant, then I look at you now, and I just think it's all so amazing and beautiful and scary all at once.

I cannot tell you how strong I think you and Brent are for how you've handled everything that's been going on for the past few months. I truly admire you both, and wish you nothing but incredible things.

Thinking and hoping and wishing and praying,
