Packing up.....

Here were are this time last year....

We were enjoying a nice little vacation in Cabo. Our friend, Jennifer, has a place there and invited us along :)

Things are quite different this year...

we still have smiles on our faces...most of the time..however, we are packing things up..
I pack the containers and Brent shifts them. HA! I say "I".... I've done a ton of packing but my parents and my cousins have helped us SO much. A few weekends ago, my cousins came down and did so much packing. I'm not sure how I ever would have gotten this house packed before leaving for Dallas without their help. I know I wouldn't have. Reminder - we are packing our house up and trying to sell it! We don't know how long we will be away, but once we return we will be living in Brent's grandmother's house since she moved out of it.

here I am packing some wine glasses :)

{I know, I'm even bigger sitting down! haha. That is Brent recording}

No, we did not go out and buy a hundred plastic containers. My parents just made a four hour move here a couple of weeks ago. They did their move in shifts though, so they had a storage unit with their things in plastic containers. We are now putting our belongings in containers and in storage.

When I'm packing, sometimes Brent cooks us dinner :) Most nights we have ended up grabbing something or picking up something my mom has made at her house.

You would think that since we have only lived in this house about three years, we wouldn't have that much stuff. Not the case. We will have been together 8 years this August, so yes, we've accumulated quite a few things over the years. It was time to weed out a lot of items and pack the rest!

You would think that these are from the past 8 years....
They aren't though. Maybe 2 or 3 years. Honestly, I LOVE magazines. Honestly, I've not looked at one in probably 10 months. Well, I haven't looked all the way through. I've been consumed with all things baby and internet has come in very handy for that :) I do intend to look at these magazines though! I can't just take them to the recycle bin. I will go through them, keep the pages I want, and then take them to be recycled. But for now, how in the heck will I pack them!? hahaha. I'll take a stack to Dallas. Then perhaps I'll have change out stacks along the way.

I will say that I have loved being pregnant. It is getting a bit harder every day now that I'm close to the end. However, I will never ever, ever pack and move 7-9 months pregnant again!!!! I won't move houses anyways. Things wouldn't be quite as bad if I were just packing up some suit cases and a few containers and heading to Dallas to have Cohen and have him cared for there ...for who knows how many months. It's the packing our house, packing the house up we are moving into and so forth. BUT we are just thankful we have the options that we do so we are doing whatever it takes to make things work. We don't complain. We don't want Cohen thinking we are upset. We aren't. We are tired an achy, but none of that matters because we know that no matter what, it will be worth it.

I was resting from packing here.. I think about 34 weeks...

Though packing isn't my favorite thing (at all), I LOVE to unpack! So that is something I will have to look forward to on down the road.

We are heading to Dallas on tomorrow. You will probably here more from me then :) I'll have a few weeks (hopefully) before Cohen arrives to play catch up on a few things...most importantly, REST! Next to rest, thank you notes! We have so many people to be thankful for!

Since we are doing a documentary with the Children's Medical Center in Dallas (where Cohen will receive his care), we are supposed to be videoing some things we are doing right now (hence the video above). We have not been too great at our documentation in video form, but we are working on it :) Turns out, I'm a bit more video shy than I thought :o) We do have more videos coming up though. Brent took a few at the sale we had last week at his grandmothers. Yesterday, I had a belly cast done and my sister-in-law recording some of it :)

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Oh my goodness, I bet you're exhausted! I can't imagine doing ll of that at the end of a pregnancy! Does it at least help you sleep better at night?? :)

Also, I love that you have so many magazines. I hate parting with mine and it makes my husband crazy!

Dear Megan

I wish you loads of luck with the move and with giving birth to Cohen. You seem to be such a strong and brave person and I'm sure you'll be a wonderful mother and your husband a wonderful father.
Now get yourself some rest because you'll need a looooot of energy once Cohen's here. I really hope all goes well and that you'll keep being strong no matter what happens.
Sending you some positive vibes from (rainy) Switzerland ;) and sorry for my English...I'm not a native speaker...:)

Hi! I just came across your blog a few weeks ago and I've spent the last few days reading your blog. Yes, the whole thing because I'm a dork!

I can't imagine moving and being so pregnant. I bet you are exhausted. Hopefully when you arrive in Dallas you will be able to rest.

Anyway, your blog is super cute and I enjoy reading. :)

Ahhhhh CABO! We go every year, except this year since I am pregnant! I really miss it. Loved seeing all of your pics!
I am also a magazine hoarder and have neglected them in a major way since being pregnant! Not sure why!
and... we moved all our stuff in plastic bins. They are totally awesome! Cheaper than Uhaul boxes and great for storing and moving. Nashville flooded recently but everything in my basement was in Rubbermaid Tubs so all was well!

Like many of the others, I loved putting a voice with a face! The video was cute - especially when you all giggled together.

I wanted to tell you that I worked a gala for the American Heart Association last night and the turn out was amazing. During the event they showed several stories of babies/kids with heart defects. The stories were all incredible - I can't believe how strong those kids are - and I couldn't help but cry. I thought of you and your family and said a prayer for you all.

Praying that everything goes well in Dallas!
