Hi everyone 🙂 Sorry I was blogger absent a few days last week. We’ve been super busy. I can’t believe at the end of the week I head to Dallas and Cohen will be here before we know it!
I snapped a few pics last week I wanted to share. I snapped more on my other camera but here are a few off my iphone…
Last week Elton stayed with Brent’s dad. It was super sad having to take him but we knew we wouldn’t be home much at all with work and getting ready for the estate sale at Brent’s grandmothers. Elton loves being with his papa. I missed Elton and last night when when he got home, I kind of felt like he was mad at me 🙁 We are going to be busy this week but I figured I might as well get to snuggle with him while we sleep since I’ll be leaving him next week.
Some of my friends started painting the new house last week. Here is Kristen painting Cohen’s room 🙂
We decided on Lilly. It’s yellow and very pretty! Yes, I helped a tiny bit with a mask on. It wasn’t strong at all! I went downstairs when she did strong stuff. There were 3 walls with wallpaper so there was a strong primer involved to put on before painting. MUCH easier than pulling off wallpaper at this point.
On Wednesday evening, Kirsten, Jennifer & Sandra (our friend Judd’s mom and Kristen’s mother-in-law) almost got the entire master room done! We picked an ivory color. I will have pictures in the future. We have the built-ins left to do and the carpet to get cleaned then we can start moving some furniture in.
SO SO nice of them to paint! I don’t know what we would have done without their help! ….besides lived with really lovely bedroom walls 😉
The sale was very successful! We posted flyers letting people know about Cohen and that all the proceeds would be going to a fund for him. There are really some kind people out there! We appreciate it so much! We had people bring things to donate as well. I’ll do more details in a post about the sale!
We had a good mother’s day. It was really weird to wake up to Happy Mother’s Day texts, tweets and calls. Brent and I got to sleep in a few hours and then headed back to the house to meet people who bought furniture and were needing to pick it up. We picked Elton up food and dropped it off, went to Home Depot and grabbed some lunch…
For dinner, Brent let me pick where I wanted to go. We went to a local Italian place I like. Though they changed the entree I usually get, I still loved the bread pudding.
We hung out with our moms all weekend at the sale 🙂 My mom cooked delicious jumbaylaya on Saturday night so after we packed up the sale and emptied the house, we went there. Brent’s mom and step-dad came and my brother was also in town for mother’s day. It was a nice pre-Mother’s day gathering.
My major prayer yesterday was that next Mother’s day that I’m home being a mommy to Cohen. Of course I had moments when I thought what if. Hopefully yesterday wasn’t my only mother’s day. I know I will always be a mom but I just want Cohen here with me on Mother’s day 🙂
My heart is so heavy for Christie and her family as I broke down when I finally made myself read her posts last night…on Mother’s day. Please keep them in your prayers! She is such a sweet girl! kyleandchristieplus3.blogspot.com
I didn’t get a chance to do a prego Mego post last week so I’ll combine some things into one this week. I’ll be 35 weeks tomorrow!
Have a good Monday!
