Last week I was able to take a few minutes to grab lunch with some sweet ladies 🙂
I say “blog friends” because that is what they started out as. However, during the past year, I’ve made IRL friends with a few blogger friends. I’ve gotten to spend quite a bit of time with Emily & Lindsey. Oh, and I think that was my first time to use the term “IRL” 🙂 In real life…..
Emily & Cate!, Me (& my pudgey face!) & Lindsey 🙂
Emily & Cate got me this precious guardian angel. I love turquoise and Emily reminded me of healing properties 🙂 I brought it will me to Dallas.
Lindsey gave me a bag of my favorite, Hershey’s Bliss in white chocolate. YUM!!
I mentioned I’ve been able to spend some time with these girls? You can see thatHERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE 🙂
So, I am officially living in Texas. That is still a bittersweet statement. Don’t get me wrong, I love Texas. I lived the first 18 years of my life in Texas. However, it was a bit emotional getting here for the reasons I’m here. I’ve been so busy and time has gone by so quickly. However, I do know this is where God wants us to be to get the best care for Cohen. I’m so excited for his arrival but can’t believe it’s getting so near! So, I’m glad to be a Texas “resident” but I was certainly sad to leave home. Yes, I mean the term “resident” loosely, as I don’t know how long I will be here.
Luckily, we have the BEST hostess EVER. She has opened her house to us and made us feel at home. We’ve only been here 24 hours and I already feel less stress. For the next three weeks (hopefully), I’ll be able to just relax and wait on Cohen to arrive. Me, Brent and my mom drove down to Dallas yesterday afternoon after a crazy weekend of packing our house up for storage. We were able to squeeze a nice lunch in before we left we most of the family. Outside of Dallas, we wanted to stop for some dinner and I picked Cracker Barrel. It was the first thing that caught my eye and I didn’t want fast food. I told Brent that and he immediately told me he had never eaten at a Cracker Barrel. What!? I guess in the almost 8 years we’ve been together we haven’t eaten there together either.
Here were are after dinner.. Sorry it’s a bit blurry. It was my mom’s first attempt at iphone picture taking…
What did I pack to bring to Dallas? I packed clothes, toiletries, cameras, computer, books, things for Cohen, stationary, magazines (those ones I previously mentioned that were stacking up) and that is about it. I am for certain I packed TOO many clothes. But how could I not? I was packing my entire house up anyways. I don’t know how long I’ll be in Dallas or what size clothes and types of clothes I will need/want. So I have a variety and options for that matter 😛
My mom handled bringing all the detergents and things like that. We are going to the grocery store tomorrow.
We woke up this morning and went to Northpark to the Apple store. Brent decided it would be best to get the Airport base station (wireless port) for my Mac and for when he is here working from his laptop. So, I’m still coming to you from a comfy sofa 🙂 My legs were in lots of pain today so I only lasted in two stores at the mall. After lunch and a few hours on the phone with his IT guy, Brent had to head home 🙁 I almost lost it but I did pretty well. Probably because I was around people and because he will be back at the end of the week. My brother came into town and rode back with Brent to help him and my dad for a while.
Tonight, mom and I visited and had some dinner with our hostess. We will call her Mrs. B 🙂 She also drove us around and showed us some local restaurants and stores close by. I’m going to attempt to get to bed early tonight. We will see. I had a hard time falling asleep last night.
I head to the doctor on Wednesday afternoon and will hopefully have some Cohen arrival details then!
Oh, and just a little warning (and at least I kind of have a heads-up, too…via text followed by an email with the below picture attached) Brent says he has a guest post coming soon that involves some of these….
Hope you all had a good Monday!
