Prego Mego ~ Week 17

Hi everyone! We had a doctor's appointment yesterday and everything went great. Our lil baby BOY is doing great! Of course as soon as I laid back and he started the sonogram, he said "Oh my goodness! It's a girl!" haha! I yelled"are you kidding me!?!.. I said I don't care what it is as long as it's lil heart is thumping!! He then said he was just teasing. Doctor sits up on the table next to me just rubbing all around on my belly. Baby boy was wiggling all around. He kind of looked like he was giving us thumbs up and shaking his arms :0) I definitely had a few tears!

Isn't be beeeeautiful?!?
This was the first ultrasound I had on the tummy. I didn't feel like it appeared quite as clear but he said it would be soon!

Doctor said baby and mommy look great and to keep up the good work! He is all too flattering...towards me anyways :)

Baby is about the size of a large apple.

He is getting eye lashes.

He can hear inside and outside his little cave.

It's time to start rubbing the belly :) He is getting sensation of feeling.

LOTS of things are happening with the lil guy! :)

Hubby has made up a bedtime song slash rap already. Once I manage to capture all the lyrics, I'll post it.

Strange thing..my eyes started itching so bad over the weekend. About once a day, I started rubbing at them. On Monday night, I was reading in bed and read at 17 weeks dry eyes start happening in pregnancy! I thought how crazy is that they were right on with timing of 17 weeks and dry eyes. They listed some solutions. I haven't tried any. I probably walk around looking goth from rubbing my eye make up around!

So I might have gained 10 pounds since I got pregnant :) Five of those pounds might have been in the month of December! hahaha. The doctor laughed and winked and said "so, 5 pounds overall"..haha. He said all very typical especially for a boy! I of course explained these engorged boobs and all the holiday food. Baby Boy is hungry!! If he estimated 22 pounds, and I'm almost halfway there, that is kind of on track? I've heard you may gain a lot at the end or a lot at the beginning, so we will see! I don't feel too bad knowing my sister-in-law gained 20 pounds in 20 weeks with her baby boy! Now, if my body will bounce back into pre-baby shape likes hers has!

It's hard to believe I've gained 10 pounds when nothing sounds that great! Truthfuly, I thought it would have been more! I will tell you what, more and more things are sounding good. However, only on certain days! I can tell I've gotten a bit more hungry lately. Here was the past few days dinner menu:

Sunday: Italian dinner with fam...EGGPLANT PARM = YUM! Dessert - BREAD PUDDING = HEAVEN!
Monday: Birthday - hubby says anything I want from anyplace in town. Even said he would go get it since it was so cold if I didn't want to go. I COULDN'T think of ANYTHING that sounded good! I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!
Tuesday: Sushi - Why must a pregnant woman crave sushi? I get cooked & fried shrimp in my rolls...no worries :)
Wednesday: MORE pasta :) The same delicious pesto bow tie pasta I ate on New Year's Day and a Caesar salad with ranch bc the Caesar dressing had raw egg. Then, Bread Pudding for dessert.. OH MY GOSH!!.....
If any of you live close to me, and ever want to go get bread pudding, call me!!

The nice thing about this week, a few of these meals were paid for by sweet friends and family for my birthday! They are too good to me :) I think they just want to make sure the baby is getting yummy food! hahaha

I have been making lunches at home that actually consist of healthy food. Mostly apples and celery and peanut butter and jellys on whole grain bread. Yep, that's about it. haha.

I don't really think I'm sleeping better but I'm sure not as tired! Yay for energy coming back! I'm staying up pretty late and don't even realize it. I'm not dragging so much by the end of the work day.

My normal shirts are all getting too short to wear.

On New Year's Eve, we were around loud music and I felt more butterflies! I think Baby was dancing.

Yesterday I seriously felt lots of butterflies. I can feel him shift around some and I can feel on my belly where he is. However, I've not had any distinct kicks or punches just yet!

I'm so darn forgetful. I'll put clothes in the washer and start it...NO SOAP! I'll put food in the oven and not even turn it on and wondering what's taking so long. haha. I'll read texts and emails I send...they don't even make sense! haha. Oh, for sure, serious pregnancy brain!

Here I am at 17 weeks....

This is actually what I wore yesterday but Brent said the patterns and dress just weren't doing it for the picture so I changed into the above haha. My doctor even said he thinks dresses are awesome for pregnant ladies. He is a hoot.
Hubby thought we should show his profile :) haha ( I was really just trying to get the camera settings straight).

We are hoping to have a name picked out soon! I will of course be sharing that with you all! We've had a few moments of thought about what if we don't think the baby looks like it's name when it comes out?! I don't think that would be the case though! ;) Plus, I'm not patient, at all. Hubs knows this. So those thoughts won't last!

I have furniture picked out that I will share soon! No theme and colors or anything picked out! I'll be working on those and picking fabrics.

It's been a great week!

I love you all and thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers!!!

xoxo ~ Megan

We don't get to find out what we're having until I'm 20 weeks because hubby will be out of town until then... but we're super excited and it is so fun to see some of your pregnancy experiences/thoughts when I'm pregnant too!

You look beautiful!

ok so i heard an old wives tale that when you're pregnant with a girl, you get *ahem* uglier (i'm so going to piss someone off) and with a boy, that it enhances your beauty... anyway, that is so true in your case because you look adorable!!! enjoy those butterflies, he'll be packing punches into your bladder in no time!

If you only gain 22 pounds total you will be my hero! lol Or maybe I just didn't read that right. But anyway, I gained 40ish with Matthew (Ok 43 total on the day I gave birth) and lost it all within 6 months. Could have gone quicker but I never wanted to leave baby's side to go to the gym!

I'm 24 weeks today and have gained 17-18 lbs... I'll be posting a pic of my baby belly on my blog in a minute! You look adorable!!
