Cookie Time :)

I love cookies! I love making and dec0rating them. The first set of pictures are a few weeks old. I figure they are better late than never and they involve my precious nieces, so how could I not post them!?

The week of Christmas, the girl's momma needed to get some shopping done. With two young girls and a new born baby boy, it was looking a bit tough. My friend, Cameron, took the girls to get lunch and then they headed over to our house! My mom was in town and got things all ready for cooking making and decorating! We made gingerbread men and an assorted Christmas collection.

Rolling out the gingerbread dough!

cutting the men!
:) It's pretty hard to get them both smiling at the same time! So, I managed to get two pics, haha.

My mom had an orange project ready for them :) I'll do a post on those soon!

toy time, too!

yes, the sprinkles got a little bit out of control
finished project :)
they are SO fun!!

On New Year's Day (Friday), hubby and I decided to make Razorback cookies! Our bowl game was Saturday and we thought it would be festive!

I will say I have quite a bit of work to do on my camera settings! These definitely aren't in the correct setting as their color is off. I'll try to perfect that soon! We VERY UNFORTUNATELY have fluorescent lighting in our kitchen and until I can figure out a way to rid it, it requires changing camera settings. The fixture isn't going anyplace because it's a built in box thing with the same cabinet wood. It has 3 long fluorescent bulbs in it with clear/foggy piece of something covering over them. Anyways, I don't like it and though I haven't from day one, since I've been taking more pictures in the kitchen I've fully determined I need to figure out something. Perhaps they make less fluorescent long bulbs? Anyone know? Sorry, I'll stop now! haha Here are the pics I took of hubby and I making cookies. Might I add, we did this about 10 at night, too :)

the one with the x's has a missing leg. It's the dead razorback, haha

hubby did good!!
keeping them covered until the following day!

It kind of looks like he did most of the work! He kind of did. He was strong at rolling the dough out. His hand was a bit more steady than mine. I was impressed!

So there you have it! Lots of cookie time lately :) A few people asked on Twitter about the Razorback cookie cutter. I purchased it a few years ago when I was in Northwest Arkansas at the mall. It was at a kitchen store, though I have no idea if the store is still there!

I've had a great birthday!! Thank you ALL for the sweet comments on my past few posts! Yall are GREAT & SO SWEET!!!! :) My sweet friend, Cameron, took me to lunch today! I was supposed to have a doctor appointment today but my doctor was delivering a bunch of babies!!! So, my appointment was moved to Wednesday! I was a bit bummed because I was excited about seeing Baby M on my birthday! O well, Wednesday will come soon...hopefully! For dinner, I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and hubby and I watched The Bachelor :) Perfect night! He told me I could have anything I wanted for dinner. NOTHING SOUNDED GOOD :( It kind of made me sad. All I could think that slightly sounded good was a PBJ! We were going to go to a movie but we couldn't decide between Sherlock Holmes & Up in the Air! It's also in the TEENS here so we figured we would stay snuggled at home.

This season of The Bachelor? Wow...crazies! Should be interesting! I should REALLY record hubby watching The Bachelor. He comes up with the most hilarious commentary!! Conveyor Belt of Love? OH MY GOSH. It is on right now. We happened to be flipping by and stopped. WHAT is happening to TV?!?!?! You should hear how loud we are laughing at these quacks!!

I'll postpone Prego Mego Week 17 until Wednesday since my appointment was moved until then! Hopefully this week I'll get our bowl get together, Lucy's birthday, my birthday & maybe a giveaway posted!! I picked up a few things 3 or 4 months ago and I've got to do the giveaway! If I don't do it this week then for sure next!

Hope you all had a good Monday!

xoxo ~ Megan

I have one of those hog cookie cutters but have not used it! Bad Kendall! I guess I figured it would be tough to decorate them. You've inspired me! I'll be sure to do some when football season starts back up :)

Happy Birthday Megan! Those cookies look delish. I have my dvr set to record the Bachelor. My mom loved Jake from the Bachelorette & she already called me today to make sure I'm going to watch, ha! My husband annoys me when he watches my TV shows sometimes b/c he makes fun of them! He hates cheesy reality shows :P

W have the same fluorescent light in our kitchen and I hate it :(. One day I would like to get rid of it and just put in recessed lighting. OMG can you believe that show Conveyor Belt of Love. I could help but watch and laugh. It was hilarious. The guy with the speedo and dog...OH MY!! The Bachelor this season is going to be interesting for sure. I think this might be the best season yet just because of the girls and the drama. Those girls are aggressive!!! I can't wait to hear about your dr's appt. :)

Love the cookies! I had the same flourescent lighting and box in my kitchen. Surprisingly, it's just a very small hole in the ceiling for the electical hookup (sorry I'm no Mrs. Fix-It). It took all of 15 minutes to take it down and put up a new fixture! Maybe yours is that easy too!

Great pics. Camera settings are hard with the florescent lights.

I have never gotten into the bachelor. I watched two seasons ago because my crazy sorority sister was on it, remember the girl who gave him the underwear..?? Yeah, that's her. i think I'll give it another try this year.

Kids decorating cookies melt my heart every time - simply adorable! And the razorback cookies? Phenomenal. =)

My third grade teacher was a Razorback and taught my entire class (smack dab in the middle of Austin, TX - Longhorn country) the pig sooie outside on the football fields. I'll always have a little place in my heart for Razorbacks thanks to her!

Your cookies are too cute! I watched conveyor belt of love last night and it was so rediculous it's funny! I felt like I wasted an hour of my life but who's counting? Glad I'm not the only one who was watching!
