Since I was little, I've been going to "The Big House" :) The Big House is the house my mom grew up in. Many of her aunts and family members also lived in the house when she did. I wish I knew the exact date it was built. My mom will probably call and tell me once she reads this. I should really post some OLD OLD pictures of it sometime.
Luckily, the Big House is still part of the family and we can go anytime we want! We don't get to go as often as we like.
Though we don't get to go every year, we have tried to go for the past few Thanksgiving. When I was little, and my grandparents were alive, it was tradition for us to go for Christmas. Many cousins & friends gathered from the DFW area. The house has 8 bedrooms and 4 baths. I'm going to post a few pictures so I can look at them whenever I want. I'm glad I took them because now when I try to re-capture my Christmas memories, I can pull the pics out. I have lots of pictures of the Christmas tree and opening presents in this room....I've kind of always called it "The Christmas Tree Room"....
When I was growing up, the Christmas tree always went where the blue chair is in the back corner...

I use to play on the piano...the paintings, my Great Aunt Mary painted :) most of them anyways....
this pink couch is my favorite piece of furniture in the house!

Here is the dining room. I like this room because it is where my parents cut their wedding cake and shared their first toast as man and wife :) I love all those pictures too!

Though this room doesn't quite look the same as it did when my mom was a teenager, I still see her pictures in my head. Her lime green walls with big bright posters on them....

I like the half bath off the entry.
These are just some things around the house....

the statue got Thanksgiving decor :)
The door to the right of these pictures was my grandparents. My mom and dad now stay in there. Yes, the pictures have been up for at LEAST 30 years (I've seen the pics).
I love this house! Hopefully, we can always keep going to spend time with family and friends there! We had a great time this Thanksgiving and I'll be posting more people pictures...and doggies...soon!
