Wknd Recap and Guest Bedroom

hi friends :) I CANNOT believe today is the first day of September! I'm excited. I love fall. Did everyone survive their Monday? I, of course, did NOT want to get up. I was so snuggled in bed!

We had a nice relaxing weekend! Friday night, we went to hubby's parent's house. They are moving and needed hubby's help. He helped his step-dad and I hung with his mom. We watched Dateline, drank wine & ate Panera. Very lovely time :) When we got home, hubby and I watched I Love You, Man. We thought it was very cute. Lots of laughing! I think I was snoozing by midnight :)

Saturday, we woke up and decided to go to brunch. We thought we would go as a little family since we never take Elton out that much. We should though because he did SO good. It probably has something to do with the fact the temp was in the 70's! I mean it was THE perfect weather and temp all weekend. I REALLY wish it would stay this way! We had brunch at one of my favs, Stonehorse Cafe. On the way, some friends called and said they were also going. So, we were able to all hang out together. Here are the pics we snapped :)

After lunch, we ran in Saks & then Akin's Natural Foods. We came home and napped. We just pretty much hung around the rest of the night and afternoon. Perfect Saturday :)

On Sunday, I'm sitting on the couch and hubby starts hysterically laughing. I have an idea of what it is as there are a box of old pics sitting in from of him. I grab my camera. I REALLY should have taken a video of how hard he was laughing.
Yep, that's me. Kindergarten. I bounced around when I was getting my hair cut and she cut a huge piece out. Then, I had to have it chopped :( There IS a bow in it though!

Sunday, hubby worked in the yard and I worked in the house. Since my brother moved out, I'm getting othe rooms into order. More on that soon! I also watched some of The Notebook. If it is on TV, I can't help but watch it. Sunday night, for family dinner, we went to Morgan & Curts'. The girls are so funny. They insisted I take these before they went to bed. These are the ones I took after they tried taking them of themselves. Yes, they are probably better than I am with the iphone.



So, the guest bedroom.... Well, my brother moved out last weekend. My parents came for five days and left Tuesday. I took this picture last Wednesday. Terrible huh? The room is a decent size but only has a bed and night table in it! The old Ralph Lauren comforter is faded yes, it is a king size on a queen bed, hence the dragging on the floor! And the sheets...well, I somehow managed to only have a red set with the sheets and the pillow cases. However, I don't feel like red really goes with the comforter..It's more orangey. ANYWAYS, THIS IS NO MORE! For the past few days I've been making changes and I'm hoping to get it finished today! I probably won't have things on the wall or more furniture..but the bed will be done. I've inquired about a few pieces of furniture on Craig's List but I'm still waiting to hear back. I've never bought anything on there before! Stay tuned for the next post to see the new improved room..well bed :)
