Guest Bedroom Makeover Part 2

Hi everyone! So, if you will remember from this post, I gave our guest bedroom a makeover! It wasn't a huge one but still one that made a pretty nice difference. I didn't paint the walls. They are macadamia. In the precious post, all I had really done was the bedding and placed one picture on the wall. Well, I decided to browse Craig's List. I've always said at some point, we will move out master bedroom furniture into the guestroom. However, there is kind of a lot of it and I'm not sure when that will be. So I looked to Craig's List for some inexpensive furniture that would basically service as a filler in the room AND storage. Our 3rd bedroom has a lot of "office stuff"....books, pictures, magazines, etc....that need a home. Here is what I found....

I know your first thought...RED!?!? Yes, that was mine too. I figured, oh no biggie, I'll just paint it. Well I don't really want to take the time to do that this second, so hubby and I went ahead and put it in the room. Yes, BOTH of us. I helped him carry both of these. This should mean a lot because I am a pretty weak short person! I LOVE this little secretary. It is pretty much THE perfect size for this wall. You can see it doesn't linger into the walkway nor is it as tall as the doors. I bought it from someone moving. He said it was very very old and been in his family a while. He said his sister had the bright idea to paint it red..
The red it kind of growing on me... I can't even think what color I would paint it? Pink?? haha

I actually found this black armoire first. After checking the measurements, I decided I thought it would fit perfectly in the room. It is originally from Pier 1 and the girl I bought it from has painted it black. I love it's cabinet and drawer space....
I added the chair to the right and magazine basket to the left. The chair isn't what I would normally probably place there, but I already had it so I tossed a pillow on it and put it in there. I'll probably find another pillow too because the one on it is a larger version of some I have on our couch. I didn't know what size I wanted when I found them so I got two.
This is the view when laying from the bed. Again, this piece seems to also be a great size. Not too big or too small. I didn't want the room to be consumed with big furniture. We do plan to put a flat screen on the top for our guests. We will probably wait until we find a good deal around Christmas. We figure though, if someone wakes early, they might want to watch TV in bed versus Elton forcing them to cuddle with him on the couch.

I'm still obsessed with these roses. They smelt so good and last a long time!
