Hi all 🙂 How was your Monday? I could have really slept in this morning. I’m certain of it. I didn’t, of course. It was Monday and that means work. I woke up and went to my office. My office lady was off today so I spent the morning in the office answering some phone calls. I am a Community Service Representative (marketing/sales). So, typically I drive around all day so it was a boring change sitting in an office. I get restless! However, as soon as I walked outside I was thankful having been inside those first few hours. It was SO SO SO SO SO hot today. I’m ready for Fall folks! Really ready!
I met Cameron for lunch at The Brook. I hadn’t been there in forever. They have a yummie grilled chicken salad so I was excited to have it. After lunch it started getting pretty cloudy. I came home and did a load of laundry. I then watched this…
I love Pretty Woman and I can watch it over and over again. I also watched two episodes of old school 90210. I love it. It ended up raining most the afternoon so that was pretty relaxing. I sipped on these…
Orange juice and tea? After lunch? Yep. Why? Well, my dermatologist has put me on SSKI drops…
SSKI is also known as Potassium Iodide. It is a very old natural like remedy. If you look it up, it states that it is typically given for thyroid issues. No, I do not have thyroid issues. In fact, all the lab work I have ever had has come back normal. My dermatologist, who seems to be extremely knowledgeable but very confused on my skin issues, has either heard of or been a part of studies that indicate SSKI helps with skin issues. The Japanese have also done studies. When I went to my pharmacy to fill it, they couldn’t. Well, they could but it wouldn’t be until the following day because they didn’t have any. I talked to the pharmacist when I picked it up and he said they thought it was interesting that a dermatologist had prescribed the SSKI until he looked it up for skin issues.
So, in orange juice or milk ONLY, for 3 days I have 2 drops in a drink 3x per day, for 3 days I have 3 drops per drink 3x per day, for 3 days 4 drops per drink 3x per day, for 5 weeks 5 drops per drink 3x per day. NUTS. I do not care to drink that much milk or orange juice..but looks like I don’t have a choice!
I feel like I’ve come to terms with this darn rash…most days anyway. I mean I have been dealing with it for like 15 years now. It has only been BAD BAD the past several years (not including the year I didn’t have any of it…more than likely because I was in menopause and no hormones working). It may be SO ugly, itching & painful, which is when it bothers me the most (and no, I’m still not posting pictures..it’s currently on my hands, feet & hip) but there are so many people out there with issues that don’t even compare. I can only hope and pray it will go away soon. Perhaps when I get pregnant. I’ve had a lot of people tell me that is a large possibility. I’m just counting my blessings…I’ve never had any rash on my face or any other fragile areas, haha (knock on wood).
I’ve been on a tea kick lately. I like the Yogi Teas. I’ve been reading about how several of them are really good for the reproductive system and hormones.
Speaking of hormones and pregnancy, have any of you used FertilAid? I’ve had several people tell me about them and I’m getting ready to order. FertilAid is, what I’ve come to understand, pretty much a prenatal vitamin…or can take the place of one. Let me know what you think!
When hubby got home, I made these…
(yes, all the pics on this post were taken with my iphone..sometimes, just easier!) We really like them! If you like sugar cookies and cinnamon rolls, then you will LOVE them. Wal-Mart has also put a $.55 coupon on the last few packs I’ve bought. Therefore, they are the least expensive and the most delicious!
I made them mostly because these two cuties came over 🙂
We watched Tatum & Taylor for a few hours tonight. They were great. SO funny and sweet! More pics of that to come soon. Not uploading my camera tonight.
REALLY made for a good Monday! 🙂
xoxo ~ Megan
