Today, while looking in this....
I came across this....
Is it just BEAUTIFUL!? The pink...I love the pink!
It looks good with everything in the room...
The color is Pink Begonia by Benjamin Moore. This seems a bit different than the picture but I think we all know how paint color goes!
For a while I've been thinking about painting our dinning room. Our entire house is the same color in every room. Before we moved in we paid a lovely $5k for it all to be the shade of Macadamia. Do not get me wrong, I love Macadamia but I think a little more variety might be nice. I thought maybe I would wallpaper the bathrooms with a nice wallpaper. That is still up in the air though. Especially considering we aren't going to be here forever and wallpaper can be expensive! I've seen a few pink rooms in magazines lately and the one above really caught my eye. Painting my dinning room pink...is that crazy? If I don't do pink, I was thinking maybe a green? I found the below room in the same House Beautiful. The shade was not listed (that I could find). I don't have any dominant colors currently in my dinning area besides brown wood furniture and black/cream chairs. One set of chairs are black & cream damask and one set are black and cream toile. My only concern is the dinning room is right off the entryway. There are french doors on the dinning room, but we always leave them open. After talking briefly with my friend Kristen, whose mother is an interior designer, she said my entryway would probably pick up whichever shade I pick. I don't think that is such a bad thing but I probably need to do some testing or research. Another option is to maybe just paint one wall! I will keep you all updated!
Here is the green room...
While on the Benjamin Moore website, I found this gem....
Meet Ben. He is an app. He is awesome. You can take pictures of things and it will find the shade of paint in the BM library that is closest to your picture. Um, cool? yes.
These are fresh pink flowers on my night table. I took this pic...
Ben picked gypsy pink! FUN huh?
How was everyone's hump day? Mine was good. The day started out VERY rainy. You know what I need? A raincoat! I don't care where it is from or really what it looks like. I probably need a solid color since I'll be wearing it for work. I need a hood. I think I have a raincoat with no hood. What good is that?
I had my hystersonogram (HSG) today. Let's just say, I hope you all don't have to have one. It was quite unpleasant. I went through two check-in points. In the 2nd waiting area, there was a pregnant lady and a couple who were also expecting. I thought to myself, I wish I was expecting. For about half a second, I thought why don't they separate the pregos and the non pregos? (** I want to add: I very rarely, if ever, feel this way..I think it had something to do with me about to get my uterus "checked" and not being able to control the outcome..=hormonal). Right at that second, a younger pregnant couple walked right past me coming out of their sonogram. They just found out they were having a baby girl! The girl was crying and the guy was calling people. I almost lost it. I was so happy for them and I wanted to go give them a hug, haha. I don't care boy or girl...hopefully some day that is hubby and I :) I'm ALWAYS happy for those who are pregnant or have a had a baby. God had a plan for them just like he does for me! I finally got back to the room...the dark x-ray room with a HUGE piece of machine in the middle of the floor. The nurse helping me was SO sweet. I get in a hospital gown and the blue socks. Let's see..how much detail could you guys possibly want? I don't think this is really TMI. Sorry if you don't agree! The nurse did tell me it is usually different for everyone...as far as the pain and how they react. I sit on table and answer questions from the nurse. I start getting a bit nervous. I tell her my husband offered to come but I told him it wasn't a big deal. She said that was probably good because he wasn't allowed in the room with me. The radiologist comes in who is also extremely nice and gives me a talk telling me what will take place. She tells me she will be telling me again as she is actually doing the procedure. No, I do not know all the "terms" or lingo but it went something like.... They put in the tool that basically "opens" things up. Probably similar to what they do for a pap. Instead of removing, they clamp it on. Then, insert a catheter into cervix. A balloon like object starts to blow up while dye goes to the places it should. Once everything is in place, the table began to move and the machine began to take it's pictures. It did seem like it lasted 10 minutes..but I think it was only about 5. They constantly asked me "how are you?" "are you okay"....yes...yes..yes. I don't even think I was breathing, haha. When it was over ,they had me stay laying down for a bit in case I started feeling sick. It wasn't the worst pain I've ever had but it was bad cramps and some are still happening. The radiologist had me look at the screen and showed me what was what. She DID tell me that my tubes were clear and the dye was moving right along. She said in her eyes, everything looked just right as it should! :) She did say I must wait to see what the doctor thinks before having any results set in stone. I guess there is a chance he may see something he doesn't like. I am praying the doctor agrees with the lady who has taken LOTS of video/pics of uterus', right? ahhh. I'm not a fan of waiting or anticipation. I'm hoping I get called to schedule an appt or even a call on the phone. I've talked to my fertility nurse about 5 times this week. She is awesome.
This afternoon, since I feel like my insides have been twisted and I have cramps, I've been relaxing. I've watched Pretty Woman, Made of Honor & part of Bounce. I was going to watch Bridget Jones Diary but hubby came in to watch Primetime with me in bed. We are Primetime, Dateline & 20/20 junkies! He ALSO grilled me a piece of salmon! It was so yum. I should have taken a picture of it because the grill marks were beautiful. You know what I've decided? My favorite sauce or dipping sauce for salmon....soy sauce & honey. Very little of each really but I love it. I love the sweet and salty mix..always have!
I feel like this post is getting long and I'm rambling. Sorry! Blame the pain med.
Thank you all for the sweet comments from my last post..and every post really!
love love! ~ Megan

Oooohhhhh I totally want a pink dining room now!!
We're Primetime junkies too!
I am glad to hear about the good report from the radiologists today. Hopefully things will continue to be good! Hope your cramping is going away and you're beginning to feel better!
You survived! Yay!! I'm praying for fantastic test results for you!
What does Brent think about a pink dining room? I can only imagine what Ty would say! haha!
I love pink, but I think that if you are going to sell w/i the next couple of years and decide to go with the pink you would probably have to repaint it. While it is gorgeous, not everyone will enjoy the pink. Although its just paint and the new people could repaint.
Ty and I are all about resale, since we know we won't be in this house after 2 more years. :)
I am loving that pink room!
I'm so sorry that you are having to go through all of that. I can't imagine how painful (physically and mentally) it must all be. I will be praying for you and your husband.
Both of the rooms are absolutely GORGEOUS! I always see these amazing rooms in magazines, but I don't know how to incorporate them into my house. I can't wait to see what you do!
ooh! i love both colors. the pink and green are both great! i can't pick a favorite. but with your incredible style, i'm sure whatever you do will make me want to repaint to copy you. :) sorry your appointment was so yucky. hope you're feeling better! and i know you get sick of hearing it, but i'd bet a million bucks that before long you'll be the cute preggo everybody's staring at. i'm already thinking about all the cute stuff i'm sure i'll buy for the mini marshall. hope you get some good rest tonight!!!
Oh Megan... I'm 100% for the pink dining room. I also like the green. Both colors are GREAT.
I love the pink room and the green room! My house is basically beige and sage green and I'm always thinking I should change it up a bit. I'm sorry you're going through all this hard stuff right now. Hopefully once everything is said and done you'll have a beautiful little baby to show for it! :)
Love those bright pink flowers!
I think you seem like a very brave person to go through all of the health issues you are (not that you have a choice, really) and sharing them in such detail on the web. I am glad your latest test seemed to go as well as possible.
I like the green living room; much more versatile. Save the pink room for when you have a little girl!
First of all...hi Ben, you're a genius and I think I love you. But I love Ben's home (aka the iPhone) even more!
I'm thinking about you and praying for a good outcome/happy test results!
That sounds like such a fun app! But I LOVE that dining room! When I get my own place I am definitely going to go crazy with the paint :)
House Beautiful is one of my fav home mags! I'm not a big pink person, but I do like that room! I like how other colors are mixed in the room! You couldn't help but be happy in a room like that! Love it!!
Oh and I know all of that Dr. stuff is not fun!!! I just found out last Wed. that I have 2 cysts and we are waiting a couple weeks to see if they get smaller so I don't have to have them removed! ughghhh! The things us women have to go through . . . YUK!! I don't know all that is going on - guess I need to go back and catch up on your blog! But I pray you feel better and that everything is okay!
I just found your blog and I really enjoy it. I LOVE the pink room! I'm sorry you have to go through so much, but pretty soon you will be a mommy! Love the blog!
I would LOVE a pink room!!!
I am loving those rooms!
I love the pink dining room, it looks very vintage!! I hope you get great test results back!
I am SO glad that she said everything looks like it should!! I'm praying that your dr says the same thing! That procedure sounds terrible, I'm sure it could have been worse, but I am terrible with regular lady-dr visits, so I can't imagine you going through that :( All for a good cause though :)
My hubby and I are Dateline/Primetime/2020 junkies too!
I am loving any of those colors girl. And I'm praying all looks well for you and for a good report. Hey, speaking of salmon, I have a wonderful parmesan baked salmon recipe, would you like me to send it to you?? :)
I'm so happy you survived the test!! I almost burst into tears myself when you described the couple at the doc's office, and how that made you feel. One day that will be you, and we will all rejoice with you!! I really am sending so many prayers your way. :)
Of the dining room, my mom is a real estate agent, so she tells me all the lingo lol. I think that unless you're planning on staying there longer than a couple years or so, paint it more the green than the pink. I LOVE LOVE the pink, but for resale, you would have to repaint it. People are weird sometimes, and can't get past the color a lot when they see a house ugh!!
I am glad that the technician thought everything looked good, and I hope the doctor will be in agreement!
Love the colors for the room. Especially the green!
Hope all the tests come back ok!
I have a pink room. We had to paint it a few times because once it can out a pepto color. So watch out. Now it looks really good and it actually goes with a lot of stuff.
I love pink, but for your house I really like the green. (men arent usually a fan of pink - esp. if it would be going on their walls in their house!) you are such a trooper for going through all of that stuff. i assume that you are having trouble getting preggers? (I am new to your blog). also, you should try caribbean jerk maranaide on your salmon. cover the salmon with it for an hour and stick it in the fridge. grill/broil it and then sweep a layer of the leftover maranaide on it. DELISH!!!
I would die die die to have at least one pink room in our house. P would freak. But seriously they way they did it in the magazine is just perfect.
I also love the green. We have a green living room and kitchen. Two totally different greens but I love both.
I just love me some color!
My boyfriend once made me promise I would not paint any rooms pink. It was a bummer. Accents are okay though, so I have them everywhere! And I LOVE THAT APP! It's so much fun.
Glad your appt. is over with, & sorry it was pretty much unpleasant {except for your nurse, thank goodness!!}. Hope you feel better today!
I LOVE the way that pink room looks. I would totally love to do a room like that one day. I need to send that picture to my mom because she is pink crazy and would love it!
I love the pink room, but I think Shane would have a stroke!! He gets on to me all the time that now that I have another girl on the way, I have "girled" the house up even more =)!
Glad you got through your procedure and I will for sure keep you in my prayers!!! I am sure everything will come up great and you will be the one crying with your first sonogram picture =)!
Ok, that color ap for your phone is WAY cool!! And I love the green color!! So pretty!
Hope you're feeling better soon and that you get a good report from your doc :)
I can't wait to see what you do with your dining room! We painted the majority of our house macadamia too! When I got our cream leather couches into our living room.. I hated them with the macadamia and went with a robin's egg blue in there.. I love it! Color can definitely be a good thing!
I hope that everything goes well with your test results! I like to hear your stories bc we've been trying for a year and a half for a second with no luck (of course he was gone for 3 months of that time). Anyway, we may have to journey down some of this fertility road in the next 6 months or so.. we'll see... so, reading your stories are comforting!
Ugh, I'm sorry you had to go through that. Hopefully you'll get the results you need. :) Thanks for sharing that app. How cool!
sorry you had to go thru that girl! :(
love the colors and i would love to have a pink room!
you're not crazy! i was watching candice olson yesterday and decided i want a pink and neutral dining room. like charlotte york. :) love those pictures.
i hope everything goes well with the test results. thank you for sharing your story.
I love that pink color! It looks so fabulous and classy!!!!
I just downloaded the Benjamin Moore Color Capture. Thanks!
I hope you're feeling better today!
i love your long posts...i don't even realize they are long until i've finished reading and think about everything you just wrote, lol!
the pink and green rooms are awesome! i could never pull that off, i'd never have the house to pull it off in!
i hope your test results come out well hun, thoughts are with you sweet girl!
I love the pink walls...I love the green walls! I am always thinking and praying for you a baby! everytie I read your blog I say a silent prayer
Thinking about you and the test results! Xx
P.S. Pink dining rooms? NOT crazy...
A. thank you for posting something to get my mind off of the insane lack of sleep last night and insanity going on today.
B.Ben is awesome, I like Ben.
C. The green is FAB!!!
D. my fav dish of all time I make is my asparagus and salmon dish with the same sauce on the side. A drizzle of soy sauce and honey. Perfecto.
are we sure we are not twins :)
You aren't crazy that pink room is ultra fab! I do live that green too though! I want them both!
So glad to hear good news! Hate that the procedure was so invasive and unpleasent though! Molly can't wait to see you on sat. I need to email or call you tonight so we can finalize plans!
I've always wanted a pink room, but I'm afraid my hubs will feel like the house isn't suitable for a man to live in...the green would be a good color, too, but I still want the pink, too!
I'm sorry about that horrible procedure (and I totally know what you mean about separating the pregos and non-pregos:)
Ok, you and I have the SAME exact taste in a room --- so beautiful!
Ok, I think Ben is going to be my new best friend. I'm moving into a new house with beige carpets and white walls, so thanks so much for sharing him! And I'm sorry about your sonogram...that does not sound fun at all. Hope you're getting lots of time to relax :)
I am loving the pink dining room! I've actually seen a few pink rooms in design magazines in the past few years. There is a designer named Suellen Gregory that used to have pink in every room of her house, if it wasn't the walls it was the furniture or accessories. I want to say there was also a pink house in a Martha Stewart issue last year. I would look it up for you, but I packed up all my magazines already.
Oh, and I understand you wishing they would keep the pregnant and non-pregnant people separate at the doctor's. When I went to get a sonogram earlier this year to check for cysts, the first thing the ultrasound tech asked when she saw me was if I'd brought a videotape to record the baby's heartbeat. Gee, thanks!
I LOVE pink!! I wish I could use it more in my decor!! I love that green rooom too though, I love pink and green together!
