I was going to leave the word uterus off but then I was like well, this isn't a timeline of anything else.
I had my fourth shot today. It went pretty good. It was only about an hour ago so at this point I feel fine. I'm sure it is inevitable that in a few hours I'll start to ache as I have the past 3 months. O well, I'm over it now and I just get it to bed. Just easier that way.

Journey It Is (pre-surgery) 11.20.08
I haven't washed my hair (post surgery) 11.26.08
Menopause will come 17 days before I turn 25.... 12.10.08
First shot postponed till next month 12.20.08
Shot #1 1.10.09
Shot Update 3.11.09
I just had shot #4 out of 6.
I asked my questions and they asked theirs. They (doc & nurse) seem pleased with how I'm doing/feeling. My main question was WHEN. That is my main question and everyone else's too. I was also wondering why I had not started the Metformin. She said the shot was doing hopefully as much as the metformin would. Since my system is shut-down, the cysts are being supressed because the ovaries are not doing anything anyways. So, I'm not getting new cysts, but hopefully the ones there are going away. We should know something in about two weeks regarding Brent's swimmers, haha. I go back April 30th for shot 5 and May 28th for shot 6. At shot 6, I will start the metformin....because at the end of the month when my shot begins to wear off, I will not go in for another. I will be coming off of menopause and my ovaries will start back up so the metformin will hopefully take the carbs and process them instead of creating cysts to go onto the ovaries.
On June 25th, I will go back and have a pelvic exam done instead of a shot. I will also start birth control to get the uterus all ready. They did say I would not be having a period more than likely. I will do birth control for June and July. At the first of August, I will go to see a radiologist to have Hysterosonography. This is where they look at the uterus to see if it has shaped as it should after my surgery and to make sure there is no scar tissue that needs to be removed. If this report comes back good & my pelvic exam looked okay....then we can start trying! At that time, the doc will give me a timeline for getting pregnant. He will go over how to calculate everything to do with my cycle...yes, we will have to "keep up with things"..or I will. I imagine I will be getting that ovulation tester (praying that I ovulate). They said more than likely he will say if you aren't pregnant after 3 months, we will need to re-evaulate....I assume meaning start a fertility med.
I feel pretty good about that timeline. Now I just hope and pray everything goes smoothly from here on out!!

Good luck with everything girl. Fertility and everything to do with it is SO frustrating. I've had a miscarriage and no success getting pregnant for over a year.. so, I understand wanting and waiting for that time when you will finally get to experience pregnancy and have children with your husband :) I hope that everything goes well and you can get pregnant in month 1 after all is clear :)

Megan,
I didn't start doing the blog thing until December so I missed the beginning of your journey through all this. I got up to speed today with your links that you posted. Bless your heart and kudos to you for being so strong through this. You probably know more about PCOS than me and I am about to be a doctor! :) Maybe you can educate me some more. Tell Brent that Cam and I said hello!

Oh - good luck to you! It is amazing what can be done with science these days! I am sure they will be able to help get things ready so you can have a sweet little one with your cute husband!
Bless you!

Megan,
I had no idea you were going through all of this. You are incredibly positive and I am so inspired by you! All of your blog posts are uplifting, but this one really got to me! I went back and read all of your older posts... I have had friends with PCOS and I didn't understand... now I do. I will say a prayer for you and your husband! I can't wait to celebrate with you when you do get pregnant!!
Megan, I don't know how you go through all of this, and do it with such beauty and grace. You are absolutely amazing! My husband and I are in the process of going through all kinds of tests for infertility, but I can't imagine what all you have gone through in the past year. We will definitely keep you in our prayers!
Jennifer
I'll be praying for you....I have PCOS and so does my twin sister. It's so aweful, we have both been admitted to the ER for severe bleeding and cysts. Bonnie almost had NO blood in her body when she went in. We started fertility treatments last year for about 4 months and then my hubby decided to go back to grad school. I did the metformin and the ovudrel shot with clomid...no luck. I know it's all in God's hands and everything will happen eventually. I just try to control sugar cravings and carbs...but sometimes that is SO hard! I know how you feel and it's so terrible some days...Praying for you...
XOXO Becky

I found your blog by googling 80's party...and started reading through everything with this surgery. I have went through everything you've explained here...from A to Z, surgery, meds, etc. I have not had a Hysterosonography however my Fertility Specialist advised me I'd have to have InVitro...that's when I found this on CNN...http://www.ivfvacation.com/.
Good Luck!
Wow I didn't know you were going through this! I went back and re-read your past posts. So sorry this is happening. You have such a great attitude and seem so positive! I will keep you and your hubs in my prayers. Thanks for sharing all of this :)
