I loved this day....

These are a few pics from 10.28.08 -aka, our 2 year anniversary.

The 3 of us :) What would I do without a timer...(before going to dinner)

Dinner @ Garlic Rose

Dinner was amazing! We started out with a glass of Pinot Noir when we arrived. I am upset with myself bc I forgot the wine & food menus to remember what we had. It was something like this...(there were a lot of fancy words/sauce/side names that of course I don't remember..
First Course - Crabcake
Second Course - Salad with gorgonzola, roasted grapes, pecans, etc.
Third Course - Lamb Chop with polenta
Fourt Course - baked pear with pomegranted sauce

When I first read the menu and saw lamb chop..I was not excited. It is not typically something I eat..but it was SO GOOD.

Each course came with a different type of wine, all good. The last course had my favorite! It was a champagne :) Once I speak to Josh, at Garlic Rose, I'll let you all know. They are having another wine dinner in December and a scotch dinner in November. I'm pretty certain he said I could drink wine. Brent likes scotch, yuck!

When we got home, I decided we didn't take a picture of just us.. It took some practicing, haha.

These gifts were sweet...

Brent gave me these sunglasses for our "anniversary" the day before the first Arkansas Football game...figured I could use them for the sun. I had been wanting them for several years. My first expensive sunglasses investment. Hopeully, they last forever! Yes, he wrote a note that reads..Dear Megan Bag & Paper - $2.00, Sunglasses - $Ridiculous, Making you happy - $Priceless. haha creative once again

My sweet friend, Katheryn, sent us these flowers for our anniversary. They bloomed so pretty!

YUM

A few days ago while meeting a friend for lunch, I stopped into Williams-Sonoma. I love this store..espically around the holidays! A few things caught my eye....

I thought this peppermint bark looked yummie. I immediately got on the phone with my mother to get a recipe for it that she most definitely had. I cannot wait to make it. I thought it looked so yummie and cute in the candy dish, I got it too!

As I was walking around, a sales associate approached me with a plate of this..

It was very yummie! She gave me a decent portion too. This is the box it comes in right at the store. I guess it could be defined as a "quick fix"...You just take it home and prepare!

I've gotten a few of these over the years....Williams-Sonoma has the holiday touch!

Monster's Marshall Mash

So the husband

and myself are having a Halloween Party! It is a little late notice. I sent an e-vite out on Friday. So it should be small and fun. Here is a preview of of the e-vite! Brent came up with the poem all on his own. He is quite creative!

You don't show up your fired,

A costume is required,

Serving up punch to get the whole room wired.

We'll supply the brew,

BYOB if you don't dig Labatt Blue,

Don't drop any treats cause' Elton might chew,

Its time to trick or treat,

Come on move your feet

And make that Mad Dash

To the Marshall Monster Mash.

Word to your Mummy!

I'll post my Halloween decor pics later! I've got to start working on food ideas! If you are in the area, feel free to come!!

Guess what I'm doing tonight!

Going to see her....

I use to not be a huge fan...but the more songs I've heard that come out..I am! I think she is great and her music is great. She seems very real. Someone I know once had a picture of video of her crying at the Sky bar in Dallas with Tony Romo on his birthday. That is okay though.. that makes her real right? Well, whatever..I'm going to see her tonight and I can't wait!

PS - She is pretty and someone is doing a great job on her makeup!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BROTHER!!!! :)

More later!

This sweet email from my husband..boyfriend at the time! (old email addresses)

Hi Honey, I wish I knew all the right words to say, but I guess there is no right ones just the one you feel at that moment in time. The one I feel at this moment in time are words of joy. I am so lucky to have a beautiful person like you as my girlfriend. I know that sometimes I don't show you this enough, but I mean to everyday. You are the most important person in my life and I love you with all my heart. I wish we could win the lotto and just hang out with each other all day. Well now the time has come for me to go, Elton is coming with. We will miss you very much but you can contact us at elton24@aol.com. Haha j/k I love you so much honey and I always will.

Love, Brent

He didn't believe me that I still had this email but I came across it when I was cleaning out AOL a few weeks ago. It was so sweet!

Hope you all are having a good day :)

"Love is passion, obsession, someone you can't live without. If you don't start with that, what are you going to end up with? Fall head over heels. I say find someone you can love like crazy and who'll love you the same way back. And how do you find him? Forget your head and listen to your heart. I'm not hearing any heart. Run the risk, if you get hurt, you'll come back. Because, the truth is there is no sense living your life without this. To make the journey and not fall deeply in love - well, you haven't lived a life at all. You have to try. Because if you haven't tried, you haven't lived." ~ meet joe black

Two years ago today....

the above and the below happened.

Brent and I got married two years ago today :) Time flies when you are having fun! It does NOT seem like it has been two years! As of September, we have been together for six years. Not every day is peachy..but I wouldn't have it any other way. Most days are great. I think it's important to work through everything..and we do, we have.

I loved my wedding day. It was perfect in every single way. I love the man I married. He is the best. I love my family and friends for providing and supporting us throughout each year as well as on the "big day"...

Perhaps, one day we will celebrate an anniversary with a party at Ramage Farms! That would be fun. I truly think the place is beautiful.

Brent and I are both a little under the weather today. He has been getting stuffy for a few days now so he is sleeping in. I'm hanging out next to him :) Tonight we will go to dinner at one of our favorite places, Garlic Rose south!

I would like for you to feel this...

This is by far the softest jacket I have ever felt. Yesterday, when leaving Fayetteville (after brunch and a few cocktails),Brent and I decide to swing into the Pack Rat. It's a local store that has TONS of jackets and outdoor gear. Both of our North Face jackets are about 5 years old. I told Brent that the only idea I came up with for an anniversary present was a TV...we don't really NEED a TV..but he could use another jacket. So, I got him a black North Face that he liked. Then, I put the jacket on above..and fell in love!! He got it for me along with a green pullover. If I could mail everyone a sample to feel it, I would. I got it in the black. It is not typical fleece material. It is kind of like a chenille blanket. In fact, it reminds me of my nieces Little Giraffe blankets that they are obsessed with (below). The material is just a little bit longer on the jacket.

So, if you are needing a new little jacket, you should check this one out!

We had a wonderful time in Fayetteville and I'll put up some pictures soon! Hope everyone is having a great Monday. More later

What should my pumpkin be?

So, elton has never had a huge problem wearing a little something here and there. His first outfit was a pumpkin I do belive. At first, he won't walk around in the outfit. He just freezes and stands still. However, once we take the outfit off him, he wants to attack it. It is nuts! It is almost like he gets so mad that we take it off and he wants it back. Now, he has all kinds of clothes. They are mostly red and have something to do with football or the razorbacks. He does like a little sweater here in there. Halloween outfits entertain us all though...WHAT should he be??? I picked up these two. What do you think?

elton the bumble bee

or elton the hot dog..

Yes, Brent and I clearly have the cutest dog ever. They are my boys and I love em!

I'm glad this week is coming to an end! We are heading to Fayetteville for the Ole Miss game! Keep your fingers crossed. The Razorbacks aren't doing so swell this season. It will be the last game of the season we attend!

I'm getting excited about our anniversary (Tuesday). I'd ask opinions on a cool gift for Brent but he reads this thing..soo shhh. I'm not sure if I've got my email on here any place but if so, feel free to email me ideas!

You will reimburse me for being short?

So I had been thinking that after a week of chilly weather (a week or two ago) that I wanted some new comfy lounging pants. I just wanted some pants I can hang around the house in when I'm not working or after work. Something that did not require heels of course since a large amount of my time is already spent wearing a 3"request for foot surgery.

There was about a 3 day battle between me and my head who wanted to go ahead and purchase a black Juicy jumpsuit. However, I am actually being smart and saving my money for New York. After I made this decision, the next day in the mail I got a flyer/coupon type thing from Express. I don't ever really think to go there unless I need some button-ups for work or something.

These are the bottoms

This is the top. Hard to see, but there is a little rhinestone on the zipper.

So, I try them on. I try two different sizes. The first size is somewhat big...saggy in the crotch about about 4 inches too long in the legs.. I try the smaller size on. The girl in the dressing room says oh definitely get the smaller size because they will stretch out. She even told me they had a lot of people wanting to return last year after that got saggy bottom. I told her I'd go home and wear them around. Well, wore them for about 2 nights around the house..about 8 hours. I looked like Rachel McAdams in Mean Girls when she was tricked into going on the high carb diet and got a lumpy butt. It was not good. So, I go BACK to Express to exchange. I tell them I think in the long run, I'd be better off going up a size. Then, the guy checking me out says, "go get them hemmed and bring us the receipt..we will pay up to $7.50 a pair." Yep, you got it..they will PAY me to alter the pants to fit as I need. That is pretty awesome! Someone appreciates a short person :)...or feels sorry for us!

Speaking of carbs...I'm supposed to be doing a low carb lifestyle. I didn't say diet either. I'm supposed to just alter my eating habits. It isn't working so good quite yet. It will though. For health purposes, I must do what the doctor says. I also want to get better about putting recipes and meal pics on here. I have a few friends that are so good at it!

They are on!

Yesterday, the 19th of October, guess what I watched on TV. Yep, 2 Christmas movies! Home Alone 2 was on in the morning and National Lampoon's Christmas vacation was on at night. This means, Christmas is coming. I do have an obsession with this holidays. I sure love it's movies. Here are my favorites!

Love Actually is my favorite!

Home Alone - A classic

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

Elf

There are a ton more a I like, but if you've not seen these, you must!!

Anyone notice the last song on Entourage last night, Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead? It's a favorite of mine. I thought it was an interesting pick at the end of the show! However, it is somewhat talking about the fake part of society..so Entourage portrays a lot of that..

Texarkana was fun this weekend. Saturday night we had a wedding for Alana & John Morel and an engagement party for my friend Kim Davis and her fiance Scott Mackenzie! These were both fun and beautiful. Pictures to come :) Shug was picture taker that night so I'll be borrowing hers. We also attended some interesting places of hung out afterward! Brent even sang..followed by a dance party...quite fun!

I'll probably have more later :) Happy Monday!

Speaking of NYC..we love to eat!

As mentioned in my previous post, Brent and I are going to visit New York City & my coisin in mid December. Since we have been several times, we have had the pleasure of eating at some of the best, most yummiest places.

On our way to Texarkana (4 hour drive) tonight, he told me one of his co-workers was going to Fayetteville with his wife and wanted to know some good places to eat. We miss Fayetteville restaurants so VERY much. Brent told me he emailed him a "list"...

Below is the "list" he emailed me about two weeks ago for NYC. His co-worker decided he should be a food critic.

Some places we have already eaten before and some we have not. If for some reason the link doesn't work, google search! Happy mouth watering!

My cousin Magda got to model some super cute things on the Today Show this morning! She actually works for the Show doing Graphic Design. She is SO sweet and she is pregnant! She is from Brazil and we love her. Brent and I are so excited to go visit her and her husband in a month and a half!

Sweet & salty, a twist on hot chocolate.

Well, we can thank

for

.

This morning at 7:45am, I got a call from my friend, Natalie C, in Fayetteville. I told her the other day what I was drinking and she then immediately she too said she liked the salty & sweet mix together. For probably only a short time, you can get these flavors in hot chocolate! I got a tall w/ one shot of espresso and she got a grande with two shots. If you like sweet & salty things, try it! At first, I definitely thought it was different but now that she has refreshed my memory this morning, I want one!

Today was a good day...

though I wish I could be closer to my momma on her birthday! She turns 57 years old today! She is the best person, mother, wife, nurse, listener, advice giver, cooker, shopper and so forth...EVER :) I love her.

Today was also good bc I got cupcakes :) It was boss' day! I don't really consider myself a boss though. I have a caregiver that brought them. Very sweet.

I love sushi and I had it for lunch with Kristen. I also had it last night for dinner with Jamie and Cameron. I can't get enough of it!

There was goodness in my blog world too!! I thank a life les than ordinary for the help!!

I'm sure more is good to come today...laundry, exercise bike..maybe louies?

"Make your life good. Invest in what's real."

-gwyneth paltrow

So those of you who know me, know that I've had a long time obsession with Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Hudson. I really just think they are awesome and extraordinary people. There will be more..much more to come on Kate. After seeing in magazine articles and online news sites that Gwyneth has a site of her own, I've taken a look at GOOP. This is Gwyneth's new "lifestyle" website. I like it. It is still in the works...but it's almost as if she has a blog. She just formats it differently. Again, as a previous post mentioned, I like to hear what others have to say. Obviously, I don't "know" celebrities. So, I find it interesting to hear/read what they have to say from their own words. I like real quotes, movie quotes, lyrics..and so forth! I love Gwyneth...and she is beautiful. I know she gets sh*t for her kids names..but really...that's her!...and Chris of course. I do indeed like Coldplay.

I do like some country music..

like Gary Allan :) There is also a song out about country fried and cold beer on Friday night...I think it's pretty catchy!

I also like SOME things about the rodeo...mostly the clothes...I feel sorry for the baby animals.

I don't pull my cute cowboy boots out often enough! After all, I did have bridal portraits made in them!

Here are a few pics from the rodeo and Gary Allan from the Tulsa State Fair. Katie and Erik came from OKC for the night!

Katie & myself - Yes, I made him take one with our boots showing once I noticed this :)

Erik & Katie - it was hard being so short taking this picture!
